Well, then it was even worse than when I saw them! Anyway, it was something that drove me crazy at the time, such wasted talent. Not that one should just play as if she were at the office, but there's a big difference between that and fooling around for half the concert. I couldn't care less about being called on stage as if we were at a local festival, and I didn't understand why people were so thrilled about it, especially the enthusiastic comments online everywhere. Oh well, I think there are a lot of people with issues out there.

Well Bartle, I've been making an effort to listen to albums lately. Then again, I think it goes in cycles; for half of last year, I was just like you. @kosmo: it's perfect at night! @Ole: good to hear from you, what’s up? The Akron were one of my favorite bands of the decade, but since one (the bearded tall guy) left, I feel like something has been missing in their music. I have both the previous and the latest on vinyl (because for now, we’re not talking about bad albums), but there's a bit of a lack of brilliant ideas like before. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but their early stuff, let's say up to Love IS Simple, is beautiful. It’s strange that they bored you live; I saw them in 2006 and, aside from the country fair delirium with losers on stage and stuff like that, when they played, they were anything but boring, at most noise-osi.

Hello everyone. A couple of errors I just noticed (ah, old age!). I didn't mean to write "Forest," but "Trees" from "On The Shore," which is a beautiful album by the way. "Paletta" doesn't mean a damn thing, it sounds like a colorful beach shovel or a multicolored pallet. @antmo: Antò, long time no see, I was about to call you because I was coming to Rome for work, but then the tasting got canceled. What have you been listening to lately that's good? @Frankie: In my opinion, this single is practically lacking, maybe the title track (which is beautiful by the way and my favorite along with "Bedouin Dress"). In the end, I like both; this one is more upbeat, the other more wintery. I honestly don't know which one will prevail in the long run, but for now this one is doing great (and the vinyl is really nice).

@BARTLE: because where do you think I'm writing from right now? Actually, in 5 minutes I'm going home to eat. Here the sun is blazing and it's 30 degrees, but no sea because my girl is sick. So yeah, it's a weekend of lockdown. A couple of really cool records from this year are the MMOSS that I'll send tomorrow, the new Grails, Hills - Master Sleeps.... give it a listen, Bartolo!

Break it, but now that we Bolsheviks are in power, the initial assumption will change. Who cares.

Well Action Woman, it’s one of my favorite garage songs! Anyway @dope: I like the latest Left Lane more than the previous one, which had sounds that were almost stoner; the latest one goes back to the raw sound of before, even if it increases the instruments (the first track is a panic anyway). So yeah, the first one remains the garage R&B record of the decade for me (or almost).

a golden period MTV never had, maybe back 16 years ago when that American channel was aired openly, there was still Alternative Nation where you could see videos like Jon Spencer's. As soon as it arrived in Italy, it was a disaster. And these are the worthy successors of such a disaster. I occasionally run into the non-young guy in the Marche, because he's friends with a DJ from my city. I'd kick him in the ass every time I see him, but my daughter would get scared (damn, I always catch him walking with his kids, I'd rather see him headbanging at some drunken night...)

But how many damn bands have reworked 1-2-5??? Great review, I'm getting back into garage rock these days, but (perhaps my flaw) more towards new releases or the originals from back in the day. The '80s still remain a black hole in my record collection. Has anyone listened to the records by The People's Temple, Shapes Have Fangs, and the latest from Left Lane Cruiser?

welcome back Laggio, and beautiful review, just like this light and poetic film. Pixar is beyond being a guarantee, I can hardly remember films so suitable for everyone. My daughter goes crazy for both Nemo and Ratatouille just like this one, and we adults too.

Damn, one of the few records I took back to the store! At the time I just couldn't handle it, okay the references to things I liked, but that voice was terrible! I think I got it blind because I was obsessed with Q And Not You and expected something similar.
