Ozric Tentacles Pungent Effulgent
Voto:
The only one I have from Ozric, a small cult even in Marche in the early '90s. Beautiful, especially the bass, a bit less so the '80s plastic keyboards that really don't connect much with my idea of psychedelia. Great the dub piece whose name I can't remember.
The Monks Black Monk Time
Voto:
Well, there's nothing to say, but it's a masterpiece like the Cro-Magnon album, that is, an album full of insights ahead of its time, but that doesn't make it a masterpiece. I don’t know, in the garage I prefer other bands, maybe more canonical ones. Anyway, the violence of the Sonics (at least in terms of recording) was unmatched back then. The Monks were definitely some truly outrageous characters, both for their look and personal history (check out the booklet included in the reissue from two years ago by Light In The Attic records).

@fest, long time no see! How are you? Sto Mazes started off quietly, but in the end I like it quite a bit. @kosmo: dear, I also believe it could be a drag live, but since I can’t even catch one concert anymore, no problem. I’ll look for Oscillation, what’s the name of the latest one?
Emiliano Pagani, Daniele Caluri Don Zauker Esorcista - Operette Morali
Voto:
look punisher you made me want zauker so much that this morning I'm wandering around the kiosks in the city center, as well as comic book shops, and everyone looks at me puzzled... but is it available or is it stuff for carbonari riots???
The Flaming Lips Telepathic Surgery
Voto:
Either you get it as part of the triple Finally The Punk Rockers Are Taking Acid that compiles the first EP + the first three albums (but as mentioned, you have Hell's Angels Cracker Factory truncated) or good luck, I’ve only seen it once on CD in Tokyo as a single album.

Can you read my mind? I was checking this page a few days ago, and I just received the reissue in double CD with an included DVD! What can I say, why the hell didn't I hear them at all back in '98???? At least I made up for it.
Wooden Shjips West
Voto:
Damn, I was about to start... what can I say, as usual a good album by Wooden, although I notice a certain repetitiveness in their forms, which is both their hypnotic strength and their greatest weakness. I don’t know how long they can keep riding the kraut spacemen hypnosis wave, but they’re still solid. In my opinion, this year the "pop" album from Ripley's parallel project, Moon Duo, is better. Good call mentioning the Hills, on which I've been meaning to write a few lines for months. A special shoutout, especially to Silas, for the new Cave album, which I had reviewed as Psychic Psummer, called "Neverendless," very mantrosy and kraut to the bone. Oh, and also the Lumerians' "Transmalinnia," this might be my psych album of the year. Au revoir.
Nicolas Winding Refn Drive
Voto:
Beautiful, as Sfascia says, it uses many clichés, but at a directorial level, it's excellent. It's full of references to 80s detective thrillers; the opening shot over Los Angeles reminded me of Blue Thunder. My favorite scene remains the one in the whorehouse, masterful.

a beautiful, beautiful album, a must-have as the reviewer writes
Bi Kyo Ran Parallax
Voto:
Well, I have a live recording from the mid-'70s (I think), and I don't remember many big guitars, but I should check again. The counterpart of ethnocentricity (far be it from me to be Italocentric; by the way, I think PFM is pretty awful) is the Orientalist approach towards everything that comes from the Land of the Rising Sun, which leads to making any Japanese musical artifact seem "cool," which I believe is impossible.
