So, the speech about stoner is a bit complex: like all non-musical genres, stoner doesn’t have precise characteristics, as is the case for all musical genres as such. To be honest, I hate this term because everyone interprets it in their own way... for example, QOTSA DON’T sound like what I consider stoner. Let me explain: the term emerged after the disbandment of Kyuss to identify bands that, in the wake of Kyuss, made similar music characterized by a mixed sound of Black Sabbath-Blue Cheer-Hawkwind. In truth, the term was coined years earlier to define the music "under the influence of drugs" made by bands like Sleep. Well, the sound of Dead Meadow is stoner in the sense mentioned above, that is retro. QOTSA sound very retro, but in my opinion, they have nothing to do with this kind of cavernous sound... Homme himself stated upon the release of the first QOTSA record that he wanted to distance himself from the Kyuss sound... and indeed, by now the two bands are two very different and distinct entities... the musical approach is still similar, though. I feel a bit disappointed because I often see them with their eyes directed towards sales... but they remain a great band. However, I understand that they might bore you... I lean more towards the Kyuss sound, so for me, they feel too poppy. Bye.

Damn, I paid 14 bucks for it! Yesterday I listened to Magic and Medicine again, and maybe you’re right, dude... I have to say this album also has some nice little songs.

I must admit that her best quality remains the aesthetic factor... let's say it’s one of the few things I liked about Hole... and then breasts are important... maybe if she were more endowed, she wouldn’t be as cute... sometimes the physical aspect matters... especially when there’s little music to talk about... de gustibus obviously!

I never liked the unplugged sessions, especially when this one came out; it seemed like a pathetic commercial move exploiting an artist who was clearly uncomfortable with stardom. Honestly, when I saw it on satellite, it just made me so sad because you could tell he was going to self-destruct soon. In hindsight, it’s definitely the best unplugged session (along with Alice in Chains') and also a very intimate collective performance by the band. Unfortunately, I still have more affection for Nevermind, which is what introduced me to them. Great record.

I agree with Kosmo... people really smoke too much... it feels strange to say it, but when I saw them at a concert organized by some guys I know, the singer absolutely had to smoke or he would go crazy... anyway, good job, even though I already know I won't register it... I'm quite fond of foreign stuff... the thing that really bugs me is the title. Bye.

The booklet is remarkable... I don't think I could digest it... I heard half of the album and I was about to choose between suicide and homicide/mass genocide... definitely an album that doesn't leave people indifferent from a central figure in the music scene of the last twenty years, at least regarding not bending to the Music biz... I liked his latest statement where he said that this is his idea of ambient music... plus, he even married an Italian, what more could you want?

Well, I only have Perfect Prescription by Spacemen 3, and it doesn't have anything to do with this record... I don't know, you decide... it would just be an added compliment to Dead Meadow to say they resemble Spacemen 3... the recording is indeed a bit strange, Humax, but that’s what I like... Bye

I also have never really listened to Hole... I've always found Courtney Love annoying... is that wrong? I don't think I've missed anything. HAL... replace each letter with the next one in the alphabet and see what comes out... this is a theory I've heard since I was a kid... Bye
