I think there’s another one, I bought both of them in Tokyo, you decide! Anyway, during that time we were all listening to them at University. I can't quite call them psychedelic; they lean more towards the analog lounge style of Stereolab from that period. They’ve always reminded me of a very retro version of the trip-hop stuff from that time, the beat was often that.

complete disinterest in the Gallagher family, but complete interest in that hot chick on the cover. Is there someone who has the original who could kindly provide us with her details? Thanks

The scene where Bishop is torn in half by Mama Alien haunted my pre-teen nights in the '80s. And for years, I wished for a pulse rifle like the one used by the Space Marines. Not to mention Ripley's power loader. And for 25 years, I still occasionally find myself saying, "They're coming out of the walls, THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE FUCKING WALLS!!!"

A dive into the past for me too! Like you, I bought Zero as soon as it was released (if I’m not mistaken, spring of '90) and for me, everything started there (you're talking to someone who went on to study Japanese, wrote a thesis on the cyborg in the Japanese sci-fi imagination, and ended up living there for a while). I even got to the point of visiting the guys at Granata Press in Bologna (I spent every Saturday in the comic book stores of Bologna instead of going to school, but I was doing just fine). And, absurdly, I can confirm Castellini's remark, because when I spoke to him in '93 at the Rome comic festival, he said the same thing. In fact, besides provoking a nearly annoying nostalgic quantum leap, you made me want to go into my parents' basement and dig out all the issues of Zero (which I believe stopped in '94/'95, just like Granata Press, which became Kappa Edizioni). But for me, the magic had already partially faded; after that, I became more interested in animation.

I received the original yesterday, today I'm dedicating myself to re-listening (I downloaded it almost 10 years ago, but it didn't excite me back then), then I'll go over it for various comments and anything else.
Hayao Miyazaki Rupan Sansei - Kariosutoro no shiro (Lupin III - Il castello di Cagliostro)

Miyazaki + Lupin could only be a match destined for greatness. It’s also my 5-year-old daughter's favorite cartoon. Sorry, but rock-paper-scissors (in Japanese jankenpo or chankenpo, I spent an entire evening playing it in Tokyo last year) wasn't rock-paper-scissors???

One of those young lads with a lot of substance and little polish, far better live than on record. This one and the next are my favorites, but for example the final noise-psych track ruins an otherwise excellent album. However, from the current brood of "famolo strano" garage, aside from the parents Thee Oh Sees, I prefer his friend Mikal Cronin to good old Ty, who truly is a little genius.
