Frumious Bandersnatch A Young Man's Song

5 just for having filled an important gap in the database, I remember discussing it years ago with Lewis Tollani and maybe even with dear Soulman and Supersoul. I realized, however, that I no longer have the record, so I’m rushing to remedy that immediately.

Guys, in general, Screamadelica is quite a unique album; there are some slight references here, but for the most part, it's something else. In my opinion, the best ones remain Vanishing Point mentioned by Silas and XTRMNTR, which still packs a punch (and Kevin Shields is on guitar).

I can't read a review from someone who was 7 years old in '95. What's going on? Helpppp!!!! Joking aside, I felt it a lot when I was in Tokyo; my roommate bought it (paid like 2 €), but I don’t remember a thing. I have An Expression of Stocazzo and Damaged Lemons, but to be honest, they never really caught my attention. The thing I remember best was Kazu's miniskirt at Frequenze Masturbate, with the front row of boys all trying to bend their heads at impossible angles to check for the presence or absence of lingerie.

When I worked sporadically at my trusted record shop (around '97), it was one of the albums that obsessed me. I mean, I've always found it to have one of the most iconic covers I can remember, but damn me if I've ever heard a note. Maybe it was that at the time I was totally against post-rock like Tortoise or June of 44 (in hindsight, I actually quite like June, while Tortoise remains a Mjolnir to my nether regions), but I never dedicated any time to Grubbs with Gastr(ite). However, Bitch Magnet, oh my goodness, what a bomb!

Damn, I was about to send it! Anyway, I don't agree that this is "a job that represents the full QOTSA style," rather it's quite the opposite. My God Is The Sun and maybe I Sat By The Ocean refer back to their better past (the initial trilogy). And it is precisely in seeking new paths, achieving excellence in some instances if not greatness (The Vampyre, I Appear Missing, If I Had A Tail) that the added value of the album lies. Like I mentioned above from the good Silas, I had zero desire nor expectations for QOTSA in 2013, for me they were dead and buried after SFTD. But surprise! It manages to be "pop" while still maintaining a personal approach. And damn, there are the tracks, period. Something that was lacking since SFTD. Comparisons with albums from up to 10 years ago are pointless, this is a different group, but definitely valid. I'm just buying tickets for Milan, after 11 years since the last time I saw them, just to clarify (and you just have to look on YouTube to realize that live they are still a great war machine). I'll finish by saying it was about time for guitars to come back like they should in the so-called mainstream. We are at a delirium in these last 7/8 years, during which bands like Deerhunter are passed off as "rock" (which I don't even dislike), or worse, those losers Vampire Weekend. Finally, some solid rock and guitars, thank God! Down with the musical fluff! Nerd losers, go back to your rooms and jack off!

I’m revisiting this after years to recommend everyone to watch Searching for Sugar Man, the documentary about Sixto that won the Oscar. It’s very well made; I had completely forgotten the story of his success in South Africa when I first heard Cold Fact. In fact, it motivated me to listen to it again, and I must say it has improved from how I remembered it. Anyway, I repeat, try to watch the documentary; it’s really beautiful.

Passover all my life, me too, but I can't say that I don't like it. I reviewed it three months ago, but I just realized I never sent it to deb... I'm getting old! Who's going to see them tonight? I'm too tired and too far away, 5 hours by car round trip in one night, I'm risking a 100% accident.

beautiful the pyramid, I reviewed it last year if I'm not mistaken. Good to bring it back, it never hurts.

I've been trying to find them through unorthodox means for a while now. There are many interesting groups in the "psychedelic" scene in the Beautiful Country. La Piramide di Sangue, gli In Zaire, Al Doum and the Faryds, these Heroin in Tahiti, i Mondo Cannibale. Over time, I'll get them all; for now, financial constraints force me to hold back.

Discone, bought shortly after the comment above. World has some terrible sounds brrr... this one too, but it's more lysergic. The Teardrop make me want to puke, I just can't handle them.
