Alejandro Jodorowsky La Montagna Sacra

I only say that the poster is the last thing I see before falling asleep at night and the first thing I see in the morning for at least 7/8 years. Is that enough?
Sky Ferreira Night Time, My Time
Voto:
If this is cool, I'm Johnny Depp! I heard like 30 seconds of her stuff and I was about to vomit. The world is really turning upside down, especially the music world. Since nobody buys anything anymore, 2.0 marketing tigers create phenomena out of nothing to chase hype that lasts for six months, with almost no artistic value, just a vain pursuit of miserable sales and appearances on David Letterman. I feel more and more isolated as a listener; half the things reviewed by magazines and websites I wouldn't even listen to under torture, let alone go looking for them. Sigh.
Lullabye Arkestra Ampgrave
Voto:
Damn, I completely forgot about the Ampgrave! They were really awesome! But did these guys do anything else?
Dirtbombs Ooey Gooey Chewy Ka-blooey!
Voto:
No, this time I think it's a slight misstep, and it truly breaks my heart because Mick is a half-god. However, unfortunately there’s hardly anything from the Dirtbombs here, and while it's philologically interesting, the starting material is unfortunately a bit lacking. But come on, it’s carefree and fun, but we’re talking about the Dirtbombs here, not some pop punk group.
Wolf People Fain

I reviewed it a few months ago and I loved it, but as the months passed it has dramatically declined for me. In the end, I prefer Steeple, but it's not a bad album.
James Blackshaw Love Is The Plan, The Plan Is Death
Voto:
I should delve deeper into Blackshaw; soon I will publish a review I wrote this summer about the album by William Tyler, another follower of Basho/Fahey/Kottke. Among the "modern primitives," I liked Jack Rose, rest in peace to his soul.
Art Supernatural Fairy Tales
Voto:
Bravo for rewriting it, there was a terrible version made years ago by some little brat. You just reminded me that I don’t have it on vinyl, so I’ll take the opportunity of the California trip to dash to Amoeba Music and grab it right away! Oh, a tip for all lovers of the UK scene from that time (and even after), read "London Calling" by Barry Miles (yes, THAT Barry Miles, now a journalist for the Guardian but the founder of IT, just to say), a phenomenal glimpse into the London underground from post-war to the ‘90s, full of wonderful anecdotes (for instance, I found out there who the Eggman from "I Am The Walrus" was and why).
The Magic Mixture This Is the Magic Mixture
Voto:
Bad memories of Magic Mixture, I should revisit it; what I remember is in line with Jargon's first intervention. But you, Collapsing, are you on sick leave/unemployed? Damn, you've got a rhythm like a Ford assembly line!
Rainbow Ffolly Sallies Fforth
Voto:
Sorry, but compared to what I was reading around, when I got these a few years ago, I was quite underwhelmed... in the psych UK scene of the time, I believe there are better things, like The End, Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera, or the Art that you just reviewed.
These New Puritans Field Of Reeds
Voto:
Damn me, I wrote this last summer and just remembered now that I hadn't published it :). Look, I’m the most anti-UK listener there is right now (post '95, just to be clear), I only remember the covers of the earlier albums, the two brothers have such a fucking face that I’d take a flight tomorrow just to beat them up, but this album is very nice. So many Talk Talk vibes from Laughing Stock, Bark Psychosis, a bit of Radiohead from the Amnesiac era, proto-ambient, silences. It had all the cards in place to make me burst in spray, yet I really liked it a lot.
