Well, if I understood the meaning of your review, I agree. A nice job done, but they are a post-punk group focused solely on playing that way. I know making comparisons or parallels is always silly, but if we want to broadly stay within the scope, the IDLES are nowhere near...

Simply the best singer-songwriter of the last 20/25 years. Due to my ingrained snobbery, I avoided him in the '90s, but fortunately I managed to have a change of heart, albeit quite late (around 2005), and since then I've held him in my heart. My favorite, although both this one and the previous one are beautiful, remains Either Or? one of my desert island albums.

I never really understood why they are praised like that. I don't know, it's the usual spiel of '80s psych records: they all sound like '80s rock and a load of psychedelia. At this point, the Black Sun Ensemble is ten times better, to stick with the same era.
H.P. Lovecraft The Arkham Page

I think I stumbled upon it in the late '90s, but I've never been an exegete of Lovecraft; I've been a reader for over thirty years, though. As far as I'm concerned, I really like Houellebecq's perspective on Lovecraft in his "Against the World, Against Life." By the way, that's the name I've given to my Cthulhu role-playing game group (after 25 years and having been over 40 for a while, I decided to dive back in headfirst, damn quarantine).

In the end, I hardly heard it. A bit too square, the previous one is what I liked the most. In any case, the singer is quite a remarkable character.

Heard it only once. I might like it; in fact, the last FL I truly enjoyed is The Terror, with its claustrophobic melancholy.

I saw them at a Beaches Brew a couple of years ago, I think. I still prefer Sons OF Kemet, but live, hats off.

I don't know, I'm trying to feel it, but like it happens a bit with all their albums after Little Lucid Moments, honestly I get bored quickly. Until 2005, among my three favorite bands of all time.

I often feel this more than the debut, perhaps due to the pace being less slow and a bit more sustained.

Oh my God, I thought I had published it here back when it was released, but I guess not; good on you for writing about it. I'm biased, since they are friends and fellow citizens, but when they came out with this album, very few people cared about the musical coordinates of C'Mon Tigre, in Italy for sure, and not too many abroad.
