There’s always a mischievous part of me (or perhaps one that’s not very open to things that aren’t truly new) that considers this interest in music outside our own, not entirely but partially, a product of extra-musical influences. Don’t get me wrong, Miki, this isn’t a criticism aimed at you or at high life, but rather a doubt that arises, perhaps because I spent years studying everything that wasn’t Eurocentric. I don’t know, it’s a bit like the infatuations with musical Asia, which always smell of Orientalism to me. Anyway, sorry for the mental gymnastics, but that’s my nickname :) PS: high-waisted pants weren’t in style in the '80s and their return is one of the lowest points socially and in terms of female aesthetics. When will this '80s revival of everything come to an end? It will always be too late.

Wow, after a week of listening, I would say I'm not really in line with what you wrote. I mean, far from considering it a masterpiece, and while it remains true that it's just a remix of things done by others, I like it. It might be the presence in a couple of tracks of Capra Informis (the guy in the bone vest who plays the bongos with the Goat), but it’s a funk and tribal version of the Goat. Even more hypnotic. Yes, maybe it's too long and meandering, but for now, thumbs up, definitely.

I'm feeling it, it doesn't bother me, judgement suspended because I should put it on when I run so it gets under my skin more easily.

You're totally hooked on B.B.is B.! I might like these, what have they published in recent years that's interesting (let's say I'm stuck about 4 years ago)?

Well, I still have a great love for Amos, but honestly neither Holy Sons nor Lilacs grabbed me at all. Quite the opposite with Grails and the two albums with OM (although the latest Grails album released at the beginning of the year isn’t what I expected, it feels more like Amos's solo stuff, actually).
Olivier Assayas Personal Shopper

You have unearthed a tomb of memories with the quote from Kairō and works by Kurosawa Kiyoshi! I watched both films about twenty years ago at university, as they invited the director to a film festival organized by our Japanese faculty; I remember both being very beautiful. And I didn't recall that Ring was from a later year. Regarding Assayas, I've seen scattered works over the years, and unfortunately, despite the praise I read, there hasn't been a film of his that I liked. I don’t even remember the titles; one was about '68, with a splendid soundtrack but little else, and the other was the one about taxis. But I’m as sensitive as a slab of alabaster, so my judgment is to be taken with a grain of salt.

Is this the group of the Lay Llamas type? I wanted to look for it, who can share it with me?

Boh, as I wrote in the review of the previous album, I find them really boring, especially live. Then personally considering them among the most important in the psychedelic scene now seems exaggerated to me. The point is that they are also victims of the musical bulimia of the last decade, which has claimed many victims in the field (like Wooden Shjips who seemed to be a decent band and have in no way managed to renew their formula, getting stuck in identical albums or in a side project that has always been the same) and that benefits no one. Fewer albums but better ones. Then, as usual, I’ll look for this one, but I have serious doubts it will stay on the HD for more than a month...

After the first homonymous one, which I think I wrote about, the second one left me cold, and what I had read about this one hadn't encouraged me to download it. I'll remedy that at this point. Anyway, what was done with MMOSS remains decidedly superior to the solo production, at least pour moi.
