Finally, an album that wasn’t crafted around a boardroom table by an artist who loves music and isn’t solely aiming for commercial success.

Before Page, the guitarist of the Yardbirds was Clapton, who stayed until '65, followed by Jeff Beck, who recorded only 3 tracks. Only then did Page come in, remaining until '68 when they finally disbanded.

I like Clapton as a solo artist, both his older works and the more recent ones (I often listen to Pilgrim, even though it's quite "poppy"). Disraeli Gears is another planet, but this is a fantastic debut.
