I completely agree with what you’re saying. I just raised the score a bit because there's too much disparity between bland parts that are almost meaningless and goosebumps-worthy sections worthy of the names involved, seen in a new light... I would say that if they continue along the lines of the first two tracks and the last one, with a bit more kraut reminiscence, we could have a much more valid and certainly substantial work in some time... hoping this isn’t a collaboration that ends here! :)

Wow, I hadn't seen the new design of the site! All pink and fruity! It looks like a site for little girls and queens! Hahahah... anyway, the CD is really nice, between Solefald, Negură Bunget, and plenty of good old black metal from the past!!! :D Great review!

a very nice and smooth review! :) as for the album, well, I've been listening to it for a while, and it fully satisfies me; despite lacking a fundamental originality, there are spine-tingling passages, especially in the finale "beyond the veil," the best of the bunch! :) I know it will grow even more with listens, nothing to complain about, but "EMOZIONANTI"!!

simpler, perhaps more romantic, much more romantic than his other works, but not sugary or cloying for that reason! it is, as mentioned, simple music, but just because it is simple does not mean it requires a couple of listens to be understood! I’ve been listening to it for quite a while, and although it’s not complex, it grows with each listen, provoking truly lovely chills! maybe it’s because I’m in love, but I already adore this album, more than the previous one! great review, but I don't agree on almost everything!

Well, it’s not that I’m really into these reviews that make no sense at all! Anyway, the CD is something spectacular, it takes noise, math core, and black metal and mixes them like no one has ever done before!! Devastating, and above all, deep and emotional!

only 3 stars for such a job? I would have given a full 5, just like I did in my review elsewhere! an incredible album of warm and enveloping psychedelic rock, and it doesn't leave me dissatisfied, on the contrary, it fills my soul with unexpected intensity!

a magical album....Opeth are evolving and that's nothing but good, considering that their formula had become somewhat standardized for a few years! And what happens? From many sides, there are cries of outrage! They shout that these are not Opeth...no people! These are Opeth, unpredictable, full of exquisite class and magic! And this heritage proves it! A masterpiece of 2011!

The more I listen to it, the more I realize how much the word masterpiece has been overused lately for works that absolutely did not deserve it. Instead, this one truly deserves it, indeed!!! Devastating, black as pitch, psychologically overwhelming, compact, innovative in its incredible simplicity!!! Beautiful!!
