Sumac Love In Shadow
Voto:
They have rightfully entered my favorite post-something groups of the last few years! This "love in shadows" is beautiful, destructive, and destabilizing. Noise, sludge, post-core, post-rock, psychedelia, drone, and free-form improvisations come together in a celebration of brutality that is never self-serving. And after listening to their latest, due out soon (I'm a reviewer for a webzine so I didn't download it illegally ahahah), I can say they've created another frighteningly personal and grandiose monster.
Ah....... I wanted to post my review of this one you reviewed, but yours is very beautiful, so I’ll pass.
Autechre Oversteps
Voto:
Certainly an album that diverges not a little from what has been before and what will come after, starting from exai, but not for this reason to be underestimated within their discography: it stands between Amber and Quaristice, our band’s strictly ambient album. In my opinion, it's beautiful and so subtly layered that it justifies repeated listening sessions in order to grasp all its nuances and indeed the infinite layers.
James Blake The Colour in Anything

Overgrown was his masterpiece... this one is very beautiful and the last one, "Assume Form," is a bit too chart-pop oriented. Unfortunately, he has lost some of his immense personality, which was especially present in the first two albums, truly stunning.

I actually enjoyed it a lot. I love their environmental side and this double feature is superb.

the first of a new era... even more abstract, more experimental and, if we dare say, acid. Inside, there’s already everything that will happen shortly, with the initial extension to the 5 hours of elseq to the monolithic 8 hours of the latest masterpiece nts... let's say the 90s had at least 4 great albums and 1 masterpiece (Tri-Repetae for me), the 00s had too much on their plate with excessively lifeless material, a clear bridge to something that would come after. And here we are at the destination: Exai is the present, the past, and the future of the genius Autechre but also of all electronics... a monstrous record! ah... the review... mmmm... too brief and scant for an album of such magnitude; I’ll try to write it soon.
Autechre NTS Sessions
Voto:
After two years of sporadic listening, first distracted, then deepened, and then distracted again, up to now, in this period where we all have much more time, during which I've thoroughly dissected each one, I can say that NTS Sessions is a monolith of contemporary music (music?) that must, inevitably, end up among the important records of an era.
