Burzum Hvis Lyset Tar Oss

look, despite Burzum you made me feel tenderness. Really. I can picture you all alone at night, listening to Burzum. Come here, teddy bear, let me hug you.

Right, great EP. And nice review. I don't know about you, but I miss them. If I drink a can of Coca-Cola in one go, I can burp out the first three songs of In Casino Out.
Massive Attack Splitting The Atom (EP)

On Soulseek, Heligoland, the new album, is already floating around. After a couple of listens, it doesn't seem bad: some tracks seem great, while others leave you perplexed, and in general it doesn’t stray too far from this EP (also featuring Splitting The Atom and Psyche), but I agree with those who say the genre being proposed is starting to smell stale. Of course, 100th Windows didn’t convince me at first either, but then...

I recently "discovered" them with Laurie Bird, which if I'm not mistaken is, as you say, one of the many limited edition records they have produced. I stumbled upon them by chance, by browsing through lastfm and intrigued by the name, I went looking for their previous albums and found out they have a substantial discography despite being a fairly young band. I've listened to this one too and, although in the long run they might be a bit too ethereal and bucolic, I actually quite like them. However, they do require the right "mood" to be appreciated, and I understand that they might not appeal to everyone. Great Giola.

yessa I'm on Thrill Jockey now, actually for a few months since there's (there was since it's sold out) the EP Dead, which is really enjoyable too. I really like White Hills a lot, even though they have the Pontiak disease: they release too much stuff in a short time at the expense of quality. For the same label, the new Trans Am has also just come out, a double live album with a DVD that I'm listening to for the first time right now. More electronic, contaminated, and much more flashy than their label mates, but Red Line and Liberation, which I originally bought back in the day, are not bad at all. Still on TJ, I'm very curious about Radian, so if anyone knows and owns, step forward. BEAK> I've only listened to it once... but I don't know... maybe it needs more time.

Do you know who they remind me of? The first two albums by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, who were also all about photocopying inspiration. They're nice little records with no pretensions. The first paragraph of the rec took me back to middle school, but aside from having half the class in Timberlands and Stone Island jeans, I also had 4 or 5 metalheads all into Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, and leather jackets with patches of metal bands. So sweet. Damn, I really had forgotten about Rick Astley... never gonna give you upppp, never gonna let you downnn, I’m going to buy the record. By Rick Astley, of course.

For me, it’s already in the annual top ten. The true return of Sonic Boom's '80s era when, with his twin brother (they were born on the same day of the same year, how random is that), who turned to gospel, they were blowing minds and ears away. I've already ordered it! Huge shoutout to Psycho, I knew you would deliver some satisfaction :). P.S. I’ve already put the new White Hills on pre-order at Thrill Jockey, which comes out in February; let’s hope for the best. Have you had a chance to hear it yet?
