Wooden Shjips Dos

I like them despite all the veiled criticisms you make, which, mind you, are all valid. This line "They stimulate primordial hypnotic instincts, dormant remnants of a Paleolithic past, everyone around the fire dancing among Mammoth skins and Smilodon lurking to kick our ass." had me doubled over. Great psy.
The Darkside All That Noise

It’s been a while since it played on my stereo. I sought (and listened to) it only because it's a spin-off of Spacemen 3; I remember that while I didn't dislike it, I wasn't thrilled either. Tonight I’ll put it back on, maybe... The Hair & Skin Trading Co., whom I didn’t know until your review, are definitely more convincing. It’s curious that both rhythm sections of two groups that are very important to me and somehow interconnected decided to travel (it's the right term to use:) ) alone, and they've done it in a more than worthy manner. Strange because, at least in Spacemen 3, the rhythm section often had a marginal importance. Great review and useful for the forgetful ones like me.

I'm a slacker, Ramona! If I ever had to repeat something like this, I swear I'd give myself a major talking-to!

I will love them forever. Heads up, it's about to drop, or it has just been released—sorry, I don't know the official date— the new one from Future of the Left, Falko's band, is a live album titled Last Night I Saved Her From Vampires.
Julie's Haircut Our Secret Ceremony
Voto:
I am slowly healing from my obsession with foreign music only in recent years, and paradoxically, I'm not doing it thanks to "new" records. However, this one by Julie's is another gem after After Dark My Sweet from a couple of years ago. I'm still digesting it, but from the premise, I would say we're on the right track; I'll come back for a comment. For now, my 2009 includes Zu, Balmorhea, and this.
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks Real Emotional Trash
Voto:
I've never really connected with Malkmus's albums (excluding all the ones with Pavement). Only with Face The Truth did I find, if not the beauty of Pavement, at least the class. I'm giving this one another shot, despite the convincing review.
Roisin Murphy Overpowered
Voto:
I really liked the single and the video of Overpowered, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy a whole album. Years ago, I saw a Moloko concert here in Modena, and there were only a handful of us, which made Roisin really angry about it. Since that night, I fell in love with her, 'a Roisé sitte pijo nun so chette faccio.
