I’ll let you guys argue in peace because CB is not at all to my taste, but certainly someone who within the span of two mornings has stated in order that he would throw Irrlicht out of the window, that the name Dalla next to that of Van Morrison makes him feel like he has diarrhea, and that Zappa has an air of pretentiousness, is someone I find veeeery likable :D

The character Sinéad has been talked about, and quite a bit, in another review on Debaser: the issue of the torn photo fits into the usual habitus of the character, which in my opinion has often been damn forced and deceitful, placed there just to attract a bit of attention. And in my opinion, with the voice she has, she doesn’t need all this theatrics: just that is enough, and agreeing with caz (azzolina, no small matter), I would consider her the greatest female voice of modern song, with that vocal range that many may envy and that places her in the Empyrean of "light" voices of all time, alongside Sumac and Fraser, just to name a couple. It’s a shame about all this self-referential publicity, but oh well.

I always do my Christmas shopping AFTER. The thing about Christmas gifts is that I never know if the person is planning to reciprocate. Just think about the awkwardness (and I've really done this) when you show up at your trendy friend's place and say, "Merry Christmas! I bought you a python!", and she maybe hasn’t bought you anything because she has no money, she didn’t plan on giving Christmas gifts, or especially, she didn’t plan on giving gifts to YOU. It’s terrible. And it has also happened the other way around. So there are two options: either you hold a gathering around October at one of the more popular friends’ houses with all the other acquaintances to agree on who wants a gift and who doesn’t ("You’ll get me one, otherwise forget it that I’ll get you one"), or you do it in January (or whenever, anyway after :D), like Zzz does, so that as soon as your friend shows up at Christmas with a gift, you can say: "Ooooh, you just gave it to me now? I wanted to save it for you for the 31st...well, now give me a moment to go get it, it’s in my car!". And of course, that car isn’t coming back for at least an hour.
