Litfiba Litfiba 3

You understood perfectly, I was referring to the past (I also specified that) when I said "the biggest rock band," without taking anything away from any of the others you mentioned, who certainly helped define Italian rock. And anyway, don’t come to me with the talk about record sales, which goes beyond my world since I have always listened to non-commercial genres and at the time the commercial Litfiba certainly weren't.

If you gave that bullshit of ultimate sin a 5, what would you give to "No More Tears"?

Who reviews an album like this?! And at least if the description of the record was well done. Hmm... I'm at a loss for words.

Dear polsOn, read my review of "no rest for the wicked."

Great review, objective and with excellent viewpoints. The historical digression is not bothersome at all.

sure, it doesn't lack imagination in "hot for teacher," let's be clear! it's one of my favorite pieces by Eddy & co.

So, it turns out that he uses the pick, and anyway the rhythm isn't difficult, it's fast, but not hard.

If you're referring to the intro of "Hot for Teacher," that's pure tapping—it's more like a guitar solo rather than rhythmic playing. But I admit, it’s difficult; you need to have hands with "extensions" :) to pull it off. However, don’t tell me that thrash riffs are simple. They may just be power chords, but some rhythms and the alternation of palm muting and open sounds (which many guitarists often overlook, and you can really hear it…) aren’t always that straightforward. Plus, I also mentioned Slayer… take the riffs from the album "Reign in Blood," for example, or Pantera (Dimebag Darrell) from the album "Cowboys from Hell." When it comes to chords, though, metal doesn't vary like other genres (like jazz), so there's not much more to discuss on the topic.

I also play guitar, and I agree with you about the classical influences and the rhythms, but some of Randy's solos aren't that straightforward either, including the ones you mentioned, or "Over the Mountain" or the trills in "Mother Heart"... I also like "Jump" and "1984" by Van Halen. Van Halen's rhythm is just fast anyway, while thrash riffs like Metallica, Slayer, and others are much more technically demanding in terms of rhythm and not just tempo.

It was pure sarcasm about Duran Duran, I don’t just listen to metal either. Why a blow to the heart?! This is not clear to me... No one said that Randy invented modern guitar, but as you said, he was the only one capable of standing up to Eddy at the time, and in my opinion, the albums produced by Randy with Ozzy were far better than those of Van Halen, who, despite all the technique in the world, just couldn’t record like others. You didn’t say anything about the Les Paul though...
