I couldn't finish reading it all, I'll try again later :)
Megadeth Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

I agree with Our S.C. about the lack of trust, saying that Mustaine is the greatest rhythm guitarist of all time seems like heresy to me! Clearly, you are a die-hard fan... to make such a statement... A decent review, perhaps a bit biased. To be honest (and speaking as a thrasher), I've never really liked the album that much; for me, Megadeth (de-gustibus, just to quote S.C.) are among the last thrash bands on my personal ranking. The only album of theirs that piqued my interest was Countdown to Extinction.

But "ma mai mother gaia" is the most boring piece of all; it would be perfect for Sanremo!

Well, yeah, swords and dragons have already run their course and now they are more than just clichés... Anyway, I didn't criticize the lyrics, I said they are trivial, but they talk about something different compared to the usual metal "standards."

No, Judas, no! You can't not know them! I'm just about to write another review.

Well, if "Reign in Blood" and "Master of Puppets" don't say much to you, I don't know what to recommend for thrash. You've caught me off guard! The first four Metallica albums should appeal to you; there's some melody in addition to the pure thrash. Try Megadeth's "Countdown to Extinction" or "Youthanasia." Pantera's "Cowboys from Hell" or "Vulgar Display of Power," "Beneath the Remains," "Arise" by Sepultura... there are alternatives, but thrash hits hard! And if you only like melodic metal... for death metal, I suggest "The Sound of Perseverance" by Death if you want something extreme yet refined. I don't like brutal or grind either.

Indeed, it's not just the power genre where things get repetitive. Your observation is correct. It's just that in power metal, surpassing certain limits risks making you sound like a cliché, while other genres remain a bit underground and obscure. I only own one Gamma Ray album that I've never listened to enough, "No World Order," so I can't really comment on their career. But I believe (like most people) they've suffered from the same syndrome, from what I've always heard about them. It's a shame you don't like thrash and death metal; you don't know what you're missing! :)
