One must have a certain open-mindedness to love this film.........with this, dear punisher, I don't mean to call you obtuse, but the adjectives "horrible, pretentious, verbose, petulant, boring, convoluted, inconclusive, flaccid, suffocating" would have sounded fitting coming from the legendary Poletti....

The only thing that really makes me furious is his name that dishonors the one great Cesare Battisti, the Italian who was awarded the gold medal for military valor, of which I report the motivation (source: wiki): "A constant example of shining military valor, on July 10, 1916, after leading his company into the attack, with admirable enthusiasm, overwhelmed by the superior enemy, he resisted with a few alpine soldiers to the very end, until faced with the uncertain attempt to save himself by turning his back on the enemy and certain martyrdom, he chose martyrdom. He faced the Austrian noose with dignity and pride, shouting before drawing his last breath: 'Viva l'Italia!' and thus infusing, with that cry and with his own sacrifice, holy and new energies into the fighters of Italy." — Monte Corno di Vallarsa, July 10, 1916

In addition to endorsing KID A's comment, I would highly recommend m.middleton's first album... dated 2003, with 12 songs where Malcolm could vent, away from Moffat, his musical fantasies... Into the Woods is definitely more "canonical" and "conventional"...

I'm past the deadline... but you piqued my curiosity... Bukowski, the '80s, drugs, alcohol, whores, and slacking off... what better fun is there??

fresh film just watched........Haneke wants to lead the viewer to reflection to give meaning to the film.......the tapes are just a stimulus to delve into the original sin that each one carries with them........great Auteil, a bit static (and plump) Binoche......beautiful review that I completely agree with.......

great..........seen, re-seen, and re-re-seen........however, I find it hard to frame the mayor as the evil one.......he's just the little tentacle of a system that has to keep going (the show must go on, someone else would say)......the evil is the system.......
