Dear Teddi, I wrote on the other review... "my listening stopped in '98 with 'the boy with the arab strap'... the rest, in my opinion, are albums that are definitely too similar, chasing after big hits in vain... what a shame: a good band that hasn't been able to renew itself..." Now I add: I listened to the record and it's even worse than I thought... ugly, ugly... sure, can you fall in love with an ugly chick too? Or not?

the boards of canada are excellent.......but I find it hard to grasp the comparison with bunuel's surrealism.......I find them very "everyday," "down-to-earth"....in the film, the characters try to eat and never succeed.........when one of them is about to bring something to their mouth, there’s always a small accident that occurs......in the boards of canada, everything seems smooth, enchanted, precise, geometric...........nothing seems to go wrong.....maybe it would be the ideal soundtrack for 2001: a space odyssey.....but these are just feelings.........anyway, great review.....
