It was good old Bukowski who recommended it to me... how could I not trust him? Falling madly in love with "Dying on Credit," I read "Le Voyage" (a tiny step below... but maybe just in my head), his thesis (Dr. Semmelweiss... a precious gem), "Rigodon" (perhaps a bit conventional), and a collection of interviews (if I'm not mistaken "Polemiche" or something like that) perfect for anyone wanting to delve into the personality and temperament of Dr. Destouches... I'll let you know about the pipe-cass... "even more particularly" is really ugly to say!!

Dear Paloz (in the culoz)........ I would be curious to know why you find Svevo a "cazzaro"? I remember "Una vita" and "La coscienza di Zeno" as great books........ "Senilità" is a masterpiece......... I find Svevo's characters particularly "modern" and not so "cazzari"....... let me know!

I saw it the other evening.......great film that becomes a masterpiece in the finale......excellent contrasts: the naturalistic ones, those between the bourgeois and the "savages," between blood and compassion (lynching scene)........the soundtrack was somewhat lacking (I expected better, given the two geniuses)........perhaps he had exhausted his genius in the superlative writing........
