Anyway, I agree with you... but everyone is a bit ignorant about something; we can't know everything. Of course, if there's a cultural field that fascinates me or to which I feel I belong, I try to inform myself about it... for example, I recently read some interesting things about Rastafarian culture, not because I belong to it, but because during my research on (against) Scientology, I ended up on a site that historically analyzes various Freemasons, alternative religions, etc... Anyway, to get to the clue, I discovered that the Rasta movement is actually made up of 3 or 4 different "schools of thought"; one is related to a kind of "reverse racism," another to a Catholic American Freemasonry that is generally "white," and another that sees Selassie as the Messiah, something he has never claimed to be, by the way... if I find the link, I'll post it.

Yes, I know qzerty, but I didn't want them to think I was being pretentious by calling people ignorant...

For example, it seems contradictory to say "down with weapons, down with war, down with violence" and then glorify Che Guevara, who used weapons and waged a war, or rather a true revolution, for a just cause and for the freedom of his people, but nonetheless using weapons and a certain degree of violence, let’s say. It seems contradictory to say "down with the mafia, down with slavery" and smoke a joint in the meantime, when most of the soft drugs come from third-world countries and are produced through slavery, child exploitation, and work under inhuman conditions, like Black people in cotton fields in the southern states... and that in order to be sold, it still has to go through mafia and illegal channels, since in Italy it is still not legal... Contradictory, wouldn’t you say?

I don’t mind ska when it comes to a song or two; for example, I can tolerate Shandon for 5 minutes or Persiana Jones for even 10. What I can’t stand are the attitudes of "let’s lump everything together and then smoke it." So, mixing these stereotypes to appear cooler and more eco-conscious: ganja, Bob Marley, Che Guevara, ska, communism, Marxist-Leninist workers, Bono, drop the debt, Live8, Amnesty, etc.; I have nothing against the individual elements, nothing personal, but how many times do we fall into eco-snobbery just for fashion, without even really knowing what it’s about? The reviewer captured the atmosphere of the event well; but out of curiosity, what genre do Ameba play?
