Clint Eastwood Million Dollar Baby
Voto:
The movie is great, and I just have to thank my girlfriend for dragging me to see it!!! I can't remember the soundtrack right now, but I know that Clint Eastwood, among other things, is a rather acclaimed composer and musician...
Freddie Mercury The Freddie Mercury Album
Voto:
I really love Freddie Mercury and Queen, despite their excessive grandiloquence. However, to say "forerunner of glam, inventor of rock opera, pioneer of music videos" is a bit much... Glam was invented by Marc Bolan and then stolen by Bowie, and so on, including Roxy... Rock opera existed since the 60s with Pink Floyd, the first prog etc., etc. Music videos were already used by the Beatles (I believe) and by Elvis (see "Jailhouse Rock")... Freddie remains great, but let’s give credit where it’s due, and not to Federico...

this review made me think. it's not that I've ever adored them or anything like that; some songs are nice, others all identical, a few beautiful (the end...)... I agree, lou reed is worth 100 times more, but this hatred seems excessive. however, it seems more directed at those who idolize morrison too much, and in a way, what they say about the agitated girls is true. anyway, the industry, commerce, and marketability have a fundamental component in the music of the late twentieth century... we shouldn't just confuse aesthetic and functional components, that's all... I can't stand the idol worship of the beatles either. okay, they're great, but by constantly talking them up, they make them bigger than they actually were. VELVET UNDERGROUND UBER ALLES!!!
Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan Ballad Of The Broken Seas
Voto:
It's a nice album, a bit less the review, mostly a bit short.. and then there's always this ghost of Kurt Cobain, damn it!
Claude Debussy Prélude à l'Après-Midi d'un Faune

"Sing to me, O Muse, of the many-sided man, who was driven far and wide after he had sacked the sacred town of Troy..." It was something like that, right?
Kansas Dust In The Wind
Voto:
It's the part in The Simpsons when Homer feels abandoned by everyone and wanders around the city aimlessly.

Repetto goes to Eurodisney. You can easily find his album on Emule or by downloading it from the blog "orrore a 33 giri" Blogger you'll find it under the name Mauro Repetto, of course, in the menu on the right.

The RHCP are starting to get on my nerves a bit, I must admit. Certain tracks really annoy me. Unfortunately, Mina is getting on my nerves too, but during this forced study of Hector Berlioz - romanticism in music - program music, it's easy for everything to get on my nerves! I rediscovered Battisti just a few years ago; he's great, and his last albums are incredibly avant-garde, absurd. For those interested: I HAVE THE REPETTO ALBUM, ZUCCHERO FILATO NERO! IT'S PURE DELIRIUM!!
