Franco Battiato Inneres Auge - Il Tutto E' Più Della Somma Delle Sue Parti
Voto:
The problem is not in the content, which is always commendable even if not novel, but in the price. You can't claim in a song "what can the laws do where money reigns alone"... and then sell an EP at the price of an LP. That's not very Battiato, in addition to being incorrect.

Listen, Mr. Music, I was buying Queen records when Mercury was alive. You, perhaps, were already born back then. So just imagine if you can convince me that The Works doesn't contain classics.

I know some of the songs but not the whole album, Taylor, whose beautiful Electric Fire I reviewed, is a remarkable songwriter, musician, and performer. I've always believed that in terms of songwriting, he was at least on par with May in Queen. However, I do not agree with the statements about The Works, an album that features at least 5 tracks that have gone down in history. If only all failed albums were like that...
Claudio Baglioni Oltre (Cd1-Cd2)

undoubtedly a masterpiece
Noemi Sulla mia pelle

Noemi, all in all, isn't bad. What should we give Marco Carta, -5?

As almost always happens with the author, the review has a disarming clarity.

Let's put it in English... Battiato has compiled a collection of b-sides and rarities and sold it to us, the foolish fans who idolize him, at the price of a new CD. It's clearly a dirty move in itself, and it pains me to write it. Otherwise, if it had been sold at a fairer price and presented for what it is, the collection does offer some nice highlights, starting from Inneres Auge, the beautiful stage door, and the stunning reinterpretation of Un'altra vita.

a really sharp reviewer...

These are experiments that are difficult to understand for those outside the field, but I wouldn't consider them lacking artistic intent. As for me, I bought the record a few years ago and I've listened to it only once.

well... it gave a meaning to the bass as a solo instrument... not bad at all
