I'm listening to it because the first single enchanted me. The debt to Bowie is enormous, but it's such a well-executed and bold work that it is, in fact, original.

One should have lived through that extraordinary period between the 60s and 70s to understand Lou Reed's fame. Perhaps it's just my ignorance, but like with Clapton, I've always found his value overrated.
