Franco Battiato Shock In My Town
Voto:
Until a little while ago, I was of the opinion of primiballi, but then when I rediscovered some beautiful pieces of gommalacca, like "il mantello e la spiga" or "quello che fu," I re-evaluated the album a lot... this happens to me often with Battiato, for example, now I think that X Stratagemmi is even superior to L'imboscata... however, this did not happen with Ferro Battuto, which I consider a lesser album.

the Atlas in wrought iron is a cameo, and I had almost forgotten it... however, I won’t deny that I have a certain preference for the Smith compared to the others; I recognize that referring to the others as less gifted might have been a bit of a stretch. When it comes to musical genres, I’m not one for easy labels; in the sense that everything you define as pop-xxx is simply pop to me, bye.
R.E.M. In Time: The best of 1988-2003
Voto:
I bought this record because I didn’t have anything original by R.E.M.; in these cases, a greatest hits can be quite good... my overall impression of R.E.M., at least from OUT OF TIME onward, is that they are a band without spark, certainly very professional, with their style, their beautiful songs, but totally incapable of surprising... let me give you an example, sticking with pop, you listen to Bohemian Rhapsody or Innuendo by Queen and you think: this is out of this world, how did they manage to record such a piece?... or you listen to Shine on you crazy diamond by Pink Floyd, or Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana... and the impression is always the same, that you are dealing with unique compositions... not R.E.M., I’ve never found anything unique in them; each song, although beautiful, remains anchored in its ordinariness, that’s all.

I would say that experimentation can also be done with words... I agree that Shock In My Town, compared to the recent Ermeneutica, is not this futuristic thing, but I don't think I've labeled the piece as "experimental," rather the work itself with Sgalambro.
Ligabue Nome e Cognome
Voto:
to respond to Alessandra: artists evolve, Ligabue is an artist because he has evolved, making cinema and literature, but not with his records... unfortunately, he is very open to criticism with his records because he is exploiting his formula to the bone, proposing the same songs, on the same themes, the same chords, and the same styles for a decade... I got tired of listening to him years ago, yet there are still many people who continue to do so... and as they say: those who are content, enjoy...
Ligabue Nome e Cognome
Voto:
The problem is that Ligabue was so scared of the failure of Sopravvissuti e Sopravviventi that he lost the courage to take any risks... and yet he has talent...
Dire Straits On Every Street
Voto:
It was the first CD I ever bought... and beyond the sentimentality, it's one of the best-arranged albums I've ever heard.
Piero Pelù Né Buoni Né Cattivi
Voto:
Toro Loco is one of the most mindless songs to come out in recent years; I’ve never had the pleasure of listening to the album, but to release such a piece of garbage as a single, I believe I haven't missed anything.
Tiromancino In continuo movimento
Voto:
the album deserved something more than this rushed review
Lucio Battisti Amore e non amore
Voto:
Nice review, although I don’t have huge enthusiasm for this album. I believe it has lost its innovative spirit over time (and understandably so). On the contrary, Anima Latina, even today, thirty years later, would still be considered an experimental work.
