BandaBardò Concerto - Carbonia 31 luglio 2005

well.... I know them as a fellow citizen, and I've even seen them start their first musical murmurs. Erriquez comes from Florentine new wave bands and has always had a significant air of superiority. The other members are acceptable, but only the great Finaz is an above-average guitarist: in a recording studio, I heard him perfectly imitate the Pooh... talented and nice.
However.... frankly, I've never been a fan of these musical "pachanke," even when stuffed with political rhetoric.
Yes, live they can be captivating, cheerful, they know how to do their job well... for those who like them, that's fine, no problem. It makes me slightly smile nowadays to see this anachronistic barricade spirit: "independent music," "Berluska stupid," "playing in social centers".... who do they think they're fooling? These people, like ALL those trying to make a living in this music world, get on stage to make $$, go into the studio to record an album so it sells and brings in $$... come on, let's not be fooled by the talk of "we make music for glory".....

Well... first of all, someone should explain to me what "great guitarist" means, and generally what makes a great musician. Is it the one who plays 20,000 notes in a second? The one who plays pentatonics and atonal scales? Come on... extreme speed competitions are pointless.
A great musician is the one who plays RIGHT for their music. Sting wasn't considered a great bassist, yet he fit perfectly in the Police's music (and anyway, good luck finding many others who can play an 8-string fretless...). Keith Richard is one of the greatest rhythm guitarists: maybe if you put him with Steve Vai he wouldn't know what to do, but... what's the point? Stanley Jordan? great, very talented, but clearly good for playing THAT kind of music.
I also don't really like Britti; I only appreciate him for having dated Luisa Corna (great!), but... tell me, dear connoisseurs of guitar and classical music: if it were so easy to write catchy pieces like "Solo una volta," there would be thousands of pop celebrities around, wouldn't there? Believe me, it's muuuch more difficult to write "easy" songs than the opposite...

mamifaccia: sure, you idiot. Have you perhaps studied the magical "tablature" of Ghigo Renzulli and got upset about it?

oh no! damn! Pop, despite evoking the term "popular," certainly doesn't mean triviality, clichés, or imitations... These guys, like other recently discovered "phenomena" (Negramaro, for example, are another strange case of bluff... Vibrazioni, other phenomena), don't represent anything innovative, or at least, anything less banal... I mean, just watching and hearing the singer gives you chills: poses reminiscent of our very own Jim Morrison, affected and overly theatrical vocality... in short, nothing new under the sun...

Let's clarify one point, since I've known them well even in the rehearsal room: Litfiba were Maroccolo and Aiazzi, and perhaps even more Magnelli. That's it. Renzulli (unfortunately) stuffed every song with solos and various flourishes, and he was only good for changing a guitar once a month. Pelù was an excellent showman, but zero in terms of composition. Up until "3" they were an innovative and creative band. After that... nothing, a succession of pseudo-rock clichés at times irritating...

I see that this Enkriko, in addition to writing absurd comments, also knows how to be a stand-up comic... and he's even original... it’s just hilarious!

Well, dots: Sting may be liked or not, but it's undeniable that he has been and still is a genius of pop music. War trio? Perhaps the expression is too exaggerated. For sure, I’ve seen (unfortunately only on TV and DVD) concerts and various live performances from the trio. The Cream were the Cream, but these guys have delivered truly excellent performances. I remember an early gig (RockPalast, something like that...) that was broadcast on TV with a horrendous commentary from Sergio Mancinelli. Copeland was still playing the Ludwig, and Summers was dressed in an improbable leopard jacket. I believe not many people knew them yet. Well, I still have the tape recorded from TV: devastating, I have no other words. They were one of the few happy unions in pop-rock music. Three different personalities that blended wonderfully. Then again, tastes are tastes, but the chemistry they created I have rarely found in others.

fabioz, I have everything by The Police: I certainly didn't mean to disparage anything. It’s just that this album is, in a sense, a bridge between two periods: after the infamous white reggae of Reggatta, and before the pop apotheosis of Synchronicity. I thought it was right to highlight it.

I wanted to tell Ale that... I also expressed my opinion just like he expresses his. Very simple. Therefore, if he doesn't realize this, it's him making silly remarks in this case...
