George Harrison Cloud Nine
Voto:
What can I say... I have immense respect for Harrison because he resisted the power of the Lennon - McCartney duopoly. It must not have been easy for him to assert his ideas within the group, but it is to him that we owe the great turning point of the Beatles with the introduction of Indian instruments and harmonies. His first true solo work, "All Things Must Pass," a triple album that reached Number 1 in the USA, is a true masterpiece. However, the subsequent productions did not live up to his creative capacity. Perhaps, just perhaps, Cloud Nine is the exception, but I am absolutely convinced that it does not deserve a 5-star rating. I believe it is fair to state that, although this album attempts to reclaim Harrison's typical clichés, with the clear intent to sell a lot (G:H: was going through a difficult financial situation that would last until his death in November 2001), this work cannot be compared to "All Things." Therefore, I reject the assigned rating and assert that a more accurate evaluation should stop at three stars. If you happen to go to India, take a trip to the Ganges River and shed a couple of tears for me in his memory: his ashes were scattered there by his wife, in accordance with GH's wishes...

It's exactly that one from the video with Ben Stiller! The song is "Taylor."

Hal, Kosmo, VV, G_à, Fosca, Cleo, and everyone else... some people are like stars, you don’t always see them, but you never forget them... Merry Christmas to all!

I had something to tell you and I told you. Actually: I had something to tell you and JJ said it for me. Better than I would have. Or maybe with me. Hello everyone. PS: I'd run to Hawaii...

No, calm down, VAI_SATCH, I really like the satrio. And I share the fact that the review does not do justice to the album in question, being sure that if the elf could rewrite it today, he would use a little more precision. So I'm not against Satch, nor against the Elf, and even less against you. It's just that Bloom had me laughing my face off, countering your jabs with great irony. That is. Go on, you also have a nice nickname!

Jack Johnson is one of my favorites, my cover band (the "We") basically plays only his songs, On and On is a great album, Thicker Than Water (the soundtrack of the film of the same name) I love to death, the two DVDs (Thicker Than and The September Session) drive me crazy. The video with Taylor and Ben Stiller is hilarious! Missing the review? Well... TAKE ACTION! I gave, you know...

Everything beautiful, very beautiful, but I must (don’t get mad Grass :-)...) make a small remark: "...with the help of a guitar and little more..." doesn't sit well with me. Because Jaco Pastorius, Tony Williams (drums - Miles Davis), John McLaughlin, Stanley Clarke and so many others who accompanied her, including Herbie Hancock, if I'm not mistaken, don't really seem to fit into the "little more" category :-) Of course, the immense musicality of Joni is also felt in the "Guitar&Voice" songs, if that's what you meant. Just like when I listen to Bob Dylan or Jack Johnson. Different context but the same class and simplicity.
