Aside from the doubt that overwhelms me about the possibility of defining the Kiss as glamorous... I get wet is an album that started off well but is played and, above all, produced poorly. What a shame, it could have been something good, instead it is simply incomplete. Blame the production, I guess.

Ok, I understand your point of view. You see that I am right to argue that the categorization of music by genres, beyond educational value and commercial grouping, holds no real significance and only creates confusion! It’s an unnecessary convention. It’s not important to know whether a song is hard core or hard rock. What’s important is to be able to tell whether it’s a good song or not! (and let’s not bring up the concept that beauty is subjective, otherwise...)

From there, the various definitions: for example, modal jazz (or free jazz) is the jazz that follows the seven-section modal scales (Coltrane and Ornette Coleman).

You look at the basic setting: jazz has standards to which, for better or worse, you can trace all constructions through the modes (there is a defined number of modes to build the scales). The classic example of the standard is the construction on the IV-V-II positions (Autumn leaves. Summertimes, Stella by Starlight)

I agree that the sounds and structures are carefully crafted, refined, and elegant. But this doesn't exclude that the album is tendentially "popular," suitable for the masses, not presupposing a deep musical culture. "Baby blue" has that guitar arpeggio that is so simple yet so striking, and the vocal tone seems reminiscent of Edie Brickell. This doesn’t mean it’s a copycat or bad; it’s just easy to listen to. "To be free" sounds DIRECTLY taken from No Angel by Dido. But even this doesn’t mean I despise it; on the contrary, I like her soft voice. I really enjoy her way of singing, as if she's whispering softly. And I love the stereo sound of the drum set in "Unemployed in Summertime." I repeat, I consider it a nice little album that absolutely doesn’t create any comprehension issues... It can serve as background music (and rightly so pointed out in the review) during an evening with friends where the activity isn’t primarily devoted to listening. I also reiterate that Alternative has nothing to do with this; it’s not a judgment but just a fact. Despite my aversion to categorizing music by genres (there's only GOOD and BAD music, the rest doesn’t count), I must note that by definition "alternative" is the logical component in the reasoning of "either-or," as opposed to the concept of canonical or ordinary. I believe this album follows the canons of easy listening quite faithfully, like Dido. I hope I’ve been sufficiently clear. C U Soonest!

I would say that the most appropriate genre is "EASYLISTENING," don't you think? I mean, being easily listenable isn’t a flaw, but we definitely need to suppress the idea that it’s “alternative”: there’s some Bjork in there, a bit of Dido in the singing style... No, "alternative" is wrong. My personal judgment is that it’s a good little record, nothing exceptional but nice. Perfect for listening to while you pamper your girlfriend...
