The only interesting thing I read in your comments is that Steve Vai (I believe someone who played with Frank Zappa knows a thing or two about "DYNAMICS") (and then, why has no one mentioned that dynamics, besides the realm of volume, also encompasses the realm of rhythm? Don't you know that the transition between two different speeds is dynamic as well? Well...) I’ll get back to the point, Steve Vai is amazing. The rest is trash. Sorry for the impromptu intrusion, but it was necessary. Stay calm. Metal? It doesn't exist... and if you know music, you know that metal is not a genre. It's a very broad, useless classification. Were Guns metal? Is Steve Morse metal? If Deep Purple is hard rock, then why are Metallica metal? Same harmonic minor scales, same over-saturated and pumped power chords: where's the difference? Let’s keep the level of the discussion higher, please! :-(

lor15, you sure are hard to change your mind, huh? I just can't seem to convince you, never ever :-) I saw Picasso in France, fantastic sketches, at the art museum in Arles, Provence. Cubism is pleasant; I don't understand your bitterness. Although personally, I generally prefer futurism, especially Majakowsky, and also Tristan Tzara (I’m not sure if that’s how you spell it). But be careful, I wouldn't want your anticonformism to be just the modern version of conformity; I believe that independent thinking is something subtly different from anticonformism. Moreover, the revolution of the "counter-culture" already happened a long time ago. Read "The Catcher in the Rye"; the style is a bit crap, but the underlying idea would be useful to you. "On the Road" isn’t bad either. As for our topic, Ok Computer is a great album. There's nothing to add or take away. I'm saying this because I’VE LISTENED TO IT, not BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME...

It's as if someone said to me: "Heroes" is WAY TOO GLAM, I hate glam, so HEROES sucks: I would spit on their face in the rain!

Dear djd, the discussion is not about the free choice of whether or not to like Radiohead, but about the album OK Computer! I am not bothered at all that people don’t like Radiohead; in fact, outside of Ok Computer, I don't listen to Kid A, Amnesiac leaves me a bit perplexed, and I reiterate that Pablo Honey is a small trinket for kids. The legal point lies in that chapter of music history called Ok Computer. It exists and that’s that; you either listen to it or you don’t, but you can’t judge it. One can’t (and shouldn’t) say to me: "The cathedral of Modena leaves me indifferent because it’s in Romanesque style": hearing such things makes me furious! You may or may not like Romanesque style; if you’re going to see a cathedral, perhaps you choose a Gothic one over a Romanesque, but, for heaven’s sake, let’s not express judgments on something that experts have favored enough to declare it a universal heritage of humanity under the protection of the European Community (and I’m clearly referring to the Cathedral). For
Ok Computer, just like for hundreds of albums, it’s the same: they exist, you listen to them if you want, you don’t listen if you don’t want, but no one should dare to comment on them unfavorably. Otherwise, I’ll start saying that the Divine Comedy is just a damn little story for teenagers!

Well, I believe you’re joking, following the review… it’s the only explanation I can come up with to justify the comments from Rivo and LOR15, which, if true, completely undermine the impression I had of them. Rivo, stop talking nonsense: Pablo Honey is a child’s album, how can you say you like it and then say it makes you yawn during Ok Computer? Are you suffering from aerophagia? I agree that there are hints of King Crimson and the God of Frippertronics, but you can’t limit the scope of this record, a small masterpiece. Karmapolice is the worst song on the album, I guess. LOR15, this time you really let me down. Guys, it’s not a matter of unpopularity, this is a great album, period. For certain works, personal judgment should not be expressed. It’s like if someone told me, ā€œGuernica by Picasso makes me sick!ā€ Or: ā€œI think Easy Rider is a shitty little film!ā€ But you’re joking, right? You didn’t say those things seriously? You’re being facetious!

Yes, lock&stock is a blast! Totally! One of the most fun films never made! Total! Same cast (except Pitt) but with more rhythm! Watch it, quite uncomfortable!

Puha!-ddle... You can tell what kind of group it is by the average age of their fans... not that I have anything against music newcomers, on the contrary, I'm glad that many young people listen to music rather than just playing Tomb Raider, it’s just that... come on... the PdM... we can’t go that low... and to think there’s so much good stuff out there to listen to... but come on... you can't!!!

I am "historically" in favor of periodically reminding both the more informed and the newcomers of the "pearls" that music historiography has provided us, and that we have a moral obligation to make more accessible and, consequently, more well-known. Look at how much criticism I've received for reviewing EVEN old albums!
