Perhaps those who criticize this little piece of poetry should go back to listening to the pompous solos of the various Vai or Satriani... come on, get off! The difference between art and technical display is precisely articulated in the reviewed record. This is a man of enormous creativity who grows from album to album, assuming the stature of a new Cohen.
I love his early destructive phase very much, but I am captivated by the rarefied melodies of his latest albums... a true artist who has changed skin like few others throughout his career, reaching lyrical heights that few can attain.
