I disagree 95%. I find this album to be a gem; I can't help but listen to it on repeat. It's true that the connection to Opeth is present in several spots, both in the vocals and in some instrumental parts, but I think tracks like "the words" and "koniskas" are excellent. In my opinion, the songwriting is majestic. It's 100 steps ahead of the previous album, which was really just too much of a B-side to Lateralus. Give it a chance and yes, listen to it multiple times.
