But excuse me... the problem doesn't seem to be this... rock music existed in Italy before '78, but Vasco Rossi, with his early albums, brought the "rock mentality," transgression, and a spilled guts attitude, etc... They could have been lousy records, but Vasco deserves credit for opening Italy to a new culture (which isn't exactly that of the Stones or Led Zeppelin), closer to that of Bruce, for example... It was still a mess to go and sing in San Remo high on coke, with lyrics like "I'll cut your throat"... "We are just us" was a turning point! Even for the average Italian. So, I see the Vasco phenomenon more as a general cultural phenomenon than a musical one, since for those who truly understand music, rock bands were already there. I hope I’ve explained myself well! Damn... you took it out of my head, I was about to do that... beautiful.
Finally, even the airplanes on DB...
Anyway, I agree with Sylvian, the albums from the late 60s all sound pretty dated, even though they are incredible albums!
But these are the foundations of rock, a true cornerstone that everyone will cling to... really everyone!

Um... I don't agree about the bassist... I'm not gay, I'm not an idiot, I'm not handicapped, I'm not on drugs, I'm not envious, nobody shoved anything up my ass, I don't play sadomasochistic games, I'm not deaf, etc. etc... BYE

EL GUEVO... simon has long been the "rival" of dylan: in the sense that, besides musically comparing themselves (both in the Olympus of folk-country-rock, call it what you will), the two contrasted two different types of music: as spontaneous, immediate, and "fresh" as dylan's was, so studied, elevated, and academic was simon's.
ATTENZIONE: I am absolutely not underestimating dylan; I am just saying that the comparison between the two is unavoidable.
Furthermore, both presented music that seemed ostensibly free, or rather: their way of thinking appeared to be countercultural and could easily be confused with genuine political disengagement. What can I say... TRUE ARTISTS.

The beauty of this site is being able to review and share whatever you want... the giants of the past must be included for sure... it’s nice to discover some lesser-known bands that made good music in their time. Anyway... the new releases are a given.
By the way, I love Simon and Garfunkel, I gave four stars because, in my humble opinion, the 5 should go to "bridge over troubled water" and "the concert in central park."
Thanks for everything. BYE

for the anonymous...yes it is but it's a greatest hits!
see, grasshoper I found many accusations towards those who reviewed old stuff, but I couldn't care less: there's this one, and there are those above, and there’s also Goliath!
