The good Lloyd Cole holds a special place in my heart for the songs he wrote 20 years ago. I was quite open to listening. But... I don't know, maybe the comparison to the past is too harsh, surely the overall effect is polite, charming, washed out, and unfortunately somewhat depressing.

To label the album as MTV trash or heavy-rotation for commercial radio might be too much. However, easycure hits the mark in the review. I swear I can't understand the qualities of this work. Completely forgettable.

I confess I have the album. And I agree with Massimof: it hasn't stood the test of time. But even back then, their music never thrilled me; it had a plastic aftertaste that immediately cast a shadow of ... PVC even on the undeniable hits. Good for the nostalgia of when I was 16...
