I imagine Easycure as a kind of spammer on Dream Theater forums! Like someone who spends hours on Google searching for forums full of fans to explain why they shouldn't listen to them! I've been on this forum for a short time and already he is my idol!!! He he he! Jokes aside, will you review Octavarium too? We need a totally contrary review! (Lord's is still from a disappointed fan!)

Don't make me think... I’m going to miss these three concerts because of work... I feel terrible! Well, I’ll make up for it with the winter tour, who knows, maybe they'll miraculously come to Naples.... (What jokes I'm making, huh?)

I'm no longer surprised, do you realize it has been since falling into infinity (or maybe awake, but I was too young...!) that every time a new album comes out, battles ensue between those who elevate it to a masterpiece and those who bury it like dung??? It's absurd to think that there are so many people who envy Dream, often spouting nonsense without ever having listened to them! As for the review, I don't agree, but "de gustibus"! If Lord didn't like it (and Lord really likes Dream, just check how he defends them in the other reviews), it's not fair to blame him! I find it a fantastic album, a breath of fresh air! A step forward compared to Tot, with tracks that pay homage to Muse (You should inform yourselves, they didn't copy, it's a kind of tribute to the group by Portnoy!), to Pink Floyd, to Queen, etc.! But, I repeat, it's just my opinion and it shouldn't be commented on. Here we are about to express our own views, not to complain about those of others!

Dude, this album is nice! I was puzzled when I heard it for the first time, after the first track reminded me of Train Of Thought (rightly so, it's the continuation of This Dying Soul!) and the second one that reminded me of a mix between Disappear and Anna Lee, I kept listening and I like it. I'm glad that after the heavy and forced hyper-technicality of ToT, they took a moment to do something different again, more calm and melodic. Of course not everyone thinks like me, but that's okay! Dude, I believe that Never Enough sounds like a song by Muse thanks to Portnoy... He said that Absolution was one of his favorite albums of 2004 (even though it was released in 2003)! Panic Attack is really nice! Why doesn't the reviewer describe the songs? It seems like an important thing...

Look, Dark, unlike others I'm not complaining about the unrecognized talent of the Dream, but about the fact that you're here insulting those who like the Dream. Sorry for being blunt, but it doesn't mean a damn thing that you've been listening to prog for 15 years! I said that the Dream, whether you like it or not, have made history. Then if you read carefully, I wrote that the album is not a masterpiece, but I don’t hate it. I really like the Dream, a lot, but I don't defend them at all costs! I assure you I listen to a lot of bands, and not just prog... Then watch your words, if I like the last track by the Backstreet Boys, it doesn't make me a "child of the masses", it could be a matter of "TASTE", something you don't exactly take into account! If you want, I can come and trash talk about Death, thrash, extreme bands, and such? Then let's see if you’d defend a band you like from absurd criticism! We're here to comment on albums, not to insult bands, albums, and people. I'll see you in the forum for the Greatest Hits of the Blue. Bye

Easy, there are many not only detractors but also supporters. I don’t understand why you’re so adamant, and I don’t understand why you consider yourself so superior. You give me the impression of someone who has never actually listened to the Dream albums, or rather, has only listened to them to belittle them, without ever expressing any real judgment. And then among the detractors, there are too many jerks writing things like: "I haven't listened to it, it must suck," or "I've never listened to Dream properly because they suck." You’re no different from the various fanboys who say they are perfect in every way, because you do the same thing by saying: "They suck in every way."

I didn't vote for him. I give 1 to the review, because that's not how you judge something; you should try to be as objective as possible. I would give a 3 and a half to the album (but that's not possible), because although it is played impeccably, it lacks originality.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! What the hell kind of review is this? A fucking praise for a not-so-masterpiece from a great band! And the comments? Probably the usual crowd of I hate Dream Theater because... because... because they are too technical, because they have no feeling, because they studied at Berklee, because extreme bands are better, because they copy Metallica (... Dream Theater can do thrash, Metallica can't, C-A-N'-T DO prog), because I have the right to shit on a band that whether you like it or not has made history! Nirvana made history too, and even though I seriously despise them, I don't go around commenting on their albums. Infantile at its best, Easycure, Darkbard, and Disco_stu above all.

So, let's see... Did you know that when "Scenes from a Memory" was released, there were comments similar to those found on this page? That album, which is a masterpiece (if certain people find it commercial, that's their problem), was viewed as yet another "sappy" work by Dream Theater after "Falling Into Infinity" (a beautiful album, not perfect but really good). Now, it is rightly considered one of the best works of the Dream Theater. Is it possible that with every release I have to hear comments like:
"Dream Theater are a pain, they’re five monsters and then they do crap (e.g. Hollow Years, Wait for Sleep, Disappear, Take Away My Pain, Anna Lee... and often Another Day!)" or:
"All Dream Theater songs are the same(!?!?!?!????!!!!??!!!!!!)" or:
"They're hypertechnical, they have no feeling" or, one of my favorites:
"Yes, if I also had the money to study at Berklee, I would have made I&W too (NO COMMENT. . .)" and so on. If we take "Train of Thought," there are no melodious and sappy pieces, yet they complained. If we take "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence," the pieces are very experimental and unlike any others, but they still had something to say. If we take "Octavarium," where there’s no exaggerated hypertechnicality that made the solos in the first two pieces of the previous album sound the same, but they still find something to complain about. Dream Theater will never please everyone because there are too many factors at play (those who loved "Falling Into Infinity" don’t want an album in the style of "Awake"). And if we consider that Dream Theater has made 8 different albums, DIFFERENT, and I repeat D-I-F-F-E-R-E-N-T, it’s NORMAL that not everyone likes them!
But what frustrates me the most is that often the people disparaging Dream Theater are those who don’t even like them! I almost loathe death metal, yet I’ve listened to it; from time to time, I hear "The Sound of Perseverance" by Death or "Focus" by Cynic, but otherwise I find it an unbearable genre, and I don’t go where they review albums to say how much I dislike it. It also annoys me to hear comments like:
"I haven’t listened to it, but I already know what to expect; it’s Dream Theater, they suck!" Rating 1.
Or:
"What a drag, they put me to sleep!"
That’s why I haven’t posted in forums for a while! You end up in a pointless battle at the risk of being told you’re a fanboy who would give their life for Dream Theater! I like the songs of this damn band, all of them! Some more than others! There are better bands, but that's not what we’re talking about! This album is proof that Dream Theater has changed again, as they have since "When Dream and Day Unite." The more I listen to this album, the more I like it, melodic, flowing, new! If any being who has listened WELL (we all know a CD isn’t listened to once while reading the newspaper on the toilet, but deserves attention; they didn’t review Blue on here!) tells me they don’t like the CD, FINE BY ME! But don’t bother me by talking about why the previous albums are better or how other bands are more prog, thrash, heavy, death, black, gothic, power, technical, melodic, sentimental, gay, and so on! Dream remains Dream, but unfortunately, people remain the same! Bye, and sorry for the rant!
