Dream Theater Octavarium

No, Darksoul, I don't understand what I should be satisfied with? My guitarist plays Malmsteen at the same speed and precision, and he does it because he has studied. Malmsteen is good because he has studied! My guitarist plays Malmsteen because he has studied! Matto does Erotomania, I believe, because he has studied! Petrucci is good because he has studied, not because he has that equipment! I never said that Petrucci is an unattainable god, but simply that Petrucci is NOT his equipment! Even a child would understand that...

So even an ignorant incompetent like you with Petrucci's gear would sound like him? Come on, Sgarbi, avoid saying such nonsense! Are you both 15 years old? Because anyone who criticizes a musician by saying that their gear makes anyone sound good doesn't understand a damn thing about music! As a singer/guitarist, I know that great gear, full of different effects, can at most cover up some mistakes, but it can't do everything on its own! Or at least watch some Dream Theater videos, hoping that by watching you might start thinking, you'll realize. Or let me give you Petrucci's gear, and I want you to play (randomly) "Erotomania" and "Metropolis." And don't say I'm defending the Dream, I'm defending intelligence here!

Longlivetohardrock, I don’t think I said that Dream Theater are the best band in existence, nor that they are gods. The point is different, read more carefully... I don’t really like Fates Warning (from what I’ve listened to), I much prefer Pain of Salvation as a current prog band. Dream Theater are among my favorite bands and I defend them when they seem unjustly attacked (Example: "Dream Theater suck, how can you listen to them? I’ve only heard Anna Lee, which is GARBAGE!!!! BLEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"). The fact remains that you all are quick to lash out at anyone who likes this band. I repeat, unfortunately for you, many people really like them, if it bothers you, ignore it, why do you go looking for those damn reviews???

I agree with AXL666 on what he says about the review, while I am against the gratuitous vulgarities you are throwing around...

If I may express my opinion—and I can LOGICALLY do so—I would like to understand why all these people who complain about the 6 reviews of Octavarium are always the first to read and comment on them! We have characters who hate Dream Theater and always try to post first to lower the rating (ZION, which already makes me uneasy, I hope it doesn't refer to the eponymous group) and others who just don't like the album. Those who enjoyed the album only comment on one, while the others seem to be waiting for nothing else! There’s no rule that prohibits the same album from being reviewed by 20 different people, even if this is annoying! Unfortunately, Dream Theater is among the most listened to and liked groups, so it will ALWAYS be this way. I’ll conclude.

We are faced with a key group for prog metal, so anyone who loves the genre would do well to get it, considering it costs €10 and still stands as a modern album today. It was also the CD that kicked off the concept albums as we know them now (I’m not saying they invented them, don’t kill me and read carefully!!!), Scenes from a Memory above all (for better or worse, so don’t dare to comment)!

Easy, you’re an intelligent person, so why don’t you understand what I’m saying??? In my previous post, you replied that Gigi D'Alessio's band has technique in spades, and I completely agree with you because the father of my guitarist (a monster in his own right, who is 18 and plays just like Malmsteen!) is the guitarist for a neomelodic singer (I can’t remember who, but he’s very little known and it literally SUCKS), but he usually plays jazz (and he’s easily WAY better than Petrucci!)! I wasn’t referring to this but to the fact that my friend, who has no idea what technique is, LOVES Dream Theater!!!! Can you explain how that’s possible???
