The Trooper, if you make a list of bands, it doesn’t mean anything, since everyone with the internet can write anything and everything, so avoid these useless statements. Knowing more bands doesn’t make you someone who understands music, especially since you gave a high rating to an album that didn’t even deserve a review (in my opinion, of course). I’ve been a bit harsh, but unfortunately I can't hold back my thoughts when faced with deliberately exaggerated statements. A review should be impartial and serious; Korn are not one of the "great" metal bands, the ones loved by everyone that everyone agrees on in terms of importance and quality. They have produced some pieces that can be defined as "classics" (if not from MTV ;P).
As for Sir Headly, it bothers me to dialogue with people who don’t fully read my comments, considering I write clearly. I didn’t say that the bands I mentioned are the best; I compared them to Korn regarding live performances, and anyone with a minimum of critical sense would understand that by reading my comment (I express myself in correct Italian, and I leave little to interpretation; just read). I said that Korn said everything with their first two albums, which I don’t find repulsive, but neither do I see them as masterpieces of the metal genre. Then, concerning being a "True Metaller," you are really off track since I listen to everything because I like good music, but my favorite genre is Progressive (not Progressive Metal, I mean progressive in general, pay attention). The Soad were the most innovative in the genre in my opinion, and it certainly doesn’t seem to me that they sound at all like Korn or Deftones, nor do these guys have more technique than Soad! Where’s the technique? Creativity 0, innovation 0, but well, I understand that I’m used to hearing architects and these are bricklayers... I hope I made myself clear.

You listen to these guys because there are 2 idiots from Slipknot in there: Now I ask you: When will you start listening to some good music? The review is well done, and this stinks to me...

"After all, we're talking about Korn, one of the last metal bands that really rocks live, and those titles are now history of modern metal"?!? BUT HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TURNING OFF MTV AND SEEING WHAT METAL REALLY IS? No wait, let me calm down for a second! I need to respond to all your nonsense in a way that's functional to your growth:
1) Korn puts on decent live shows (thanks to very simple and repetitive songs in classic Nu-Metal style), but maybe you've never heard of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera, Sodom, Megadeth, Slayer, since Korn holds no meaning compared to these (but there are many others; unfortunately, I can’t describe all the better bands than Korn because it probably wouldn't fit on the site).
2) The titles of those songs are absolutely not history of anything; Korn is pushing forward a genre that's nice but died immediately since it fell back into commercialism from its inception, but more importantly:
3) THAT STUFF IS NOT METAL! Websites that cover METAL keep Korn, Deftones, and Linkin Park OUT! They don’t care about them at all, because it’s MTV stuff, stuff that borrows from various genres without creating anything original, talking about teenage themes (and it’s already clear why these guys are going for the easy profit) in such a predictable and childish way that not even punk was able to achieve! Only System of a Down really proposed something new, although they too got lost in simple melodies and easy cash...
4) This CD is truly useless; I would have appreciated them more if they had done a serious live show instead of this crap to take money from guys like you who buy it and, above all:
5) IF I WERE ONE OF THE PINK FLOYD, I WOULD HAVE ALREADY SUED THEM FOR THAT AWFUL PERFORMANCE OF ONE OF THEIR MOST BEAUTIFUL AND FAMOUS SONGS! NOT TO MENTION METALLICA, WHAT IS THAT ONE SIMPLIFIED AND SHORTENED VERSION? These guys have 7-string guitars with the seventh lowered by a tone to make noise; they could just as well play a bass since they really don’t know how to do anything on top of it.
I don’t understand how kids can idolize a group that said everything with their first 2 albums only to then fall into total ridicule and MTV parties...

Let’s be honest, a group that owes its success to the current girl who gets off with the crucifix and similar things…

Okay, the opposite of another comment of mine today:
I get that you like to be sentimental and use phrases like "happily nocturnal and enveloping, sinuous and sensual," but I honestly don't know what to expect from all this, since besides your description of the fantastic urinary visions you've been transported to, there are only 2-3 little words attempting to outline a genre, and they even seem discordant with each other. I might have been intrigued by the "guitars falling like drops in a sink"... but no, definitely not. Room for improvement. 2.5

What do they have to be assembled for?! Who cares?! XD
Ugly and monotonous review, I don't like it when someone uses the genre as a noun to describe an album (Very punk, punk rock, ska, etc.). I took a look at your older reviews, and I must say you've improved, even though you lack a bit of "feeling." ;)

Well, what can I say? I believe these kids make a pretty clichéd and uncreative music, putting on some makeup and claiming to be dark (or at least their fans say this), when I can't hear any serious dark/goth rock in their sound. I happened to see this dude on TRL (by chance because I usually don't watch TRL; it makes me feel sick..) behaving like a total diva/awesome guy, in a really annoying way... However, the review is really great, and it makes you want to get this CD and listen to it, even if you're sure it's going to suck. Well done.

And the fact that the more you listen to it, the more beautiful it becomes, do we want to talk about it, HUH? I'm saying, DO WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT?

Aside from the fact that Total Eclipse isn't a track from this album (In fact, as far as I understand, it was included in the Remastered version), CHRIST, you mentioned The X Factor and Fear of The Dark as better than this! Do you realize what you're saying? How can you call yourself a Maiden fan if what you don't like is the best (or at least among the best along with Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, and Seventh Son) they've ever produced? Unlistenable Invaders? Unlistenable Run To The Hills? Are you sure you've listened to the same album? This album doesn't have a single low moment! Every track has its purpose and atmosphere, and, above all, much of the metal that came after has drawn from THIS album!
