New Order Live Traffic Festival - Torino 02/07/2005
Voto:
New Order have never had great success in Italy. That's why in this discussion more critics emerge than admirers. The reason they have never achieved substantial success in Italy (at least compared to their stratospheric popularity in other countries) is that in Italy, unfortunately, music is either politically engaged or chart-topping garbage. There is no middle ground. Consequently, fans follow this dichotomy and struggle to categorize bands like New Order, which are simultaneously meaningful and chart-friendly, entertaining yet musically intriguing. This was evident at Traffic, where everyone wore Joy Division shirts, but no one wore one for New Order. However, New Order represent a part of the spirit and music of England that seeks to entertain and have fun without giving up on writing great songs. We have no equivalents here.

On this, I would agree with you, but you forget Depeche Mode... certainly chart-toppers, but I don't think they write nonsense.

Well, I would have bought "power corruption and lies" by New Order just for the cover. Because some tracks didn't convince me. 3.5

AR, try throwing the track straight into the street... if it hits the metal, even better! Then we’ll sample it all, add a reverb guitar and three gunshots, and you’ll see what a commercial boom we’ll have! For screams and growls, I got that covered.
