In my opinion, "black and white" is a good record. Let's be clear, it’s not new gold dream and Jim Kerr’s voice has declined a bit, they could have taken more risks in a couple of pieces (the choruses are somewhat undercooked and resemble each other too much), but it’s definitely enjoyable and will likely age very gracefully. Furthermore, I’m really getting into this electronic rock dance sound reminiscent of 2005; the album has a rhythm section and keyboards that remind me of Planet Funk's "illogical consequence," and there are some great synth sounds as well. I expect some echoes with the new work of Depeche Mode.

From what I've read and heard, the second single will be "a pain that I'm used to." A 3'12" single version that's quite pissed off, seems more rock-oriented than "precious," with some analog sounds; anyway, it seems that expectations won't be disappointed.

I finally got "a broken frame"! I realized the crime committed against "leave in silence" in the single version... how can you cut that sax ending in half! I also love that "bean pot" synth that pervades a bit of the songs aside from this. Don’t you think that some parts of precious are similar to "the sun and the rainfall" ("things get damaged..." with "things must chaaaange...") in terms of notes, I mean... tonight I’ll try to sing one over the other (sorry Mart), I think something fits.
