I don’t know if the scepter of the most epic finale of a song by DM belongs to "Enjoy the Silence" or "Walking in My Shoes." What’s certain is that Martin aimed for the heart, and he really succeeded. There's a sense of the end of the world in the air, as someone said three days ago about "Rockstar," speaking of the emotional involvement of these songs. Alright, I’ll give them a listen again. I can definitely make it through all three.

in the end it might even be the most electronic. Filtered sounds, unrefined, of unknown origin, almost as if the real acoustic instrumentation used was actually choreography for the tour and artwork, and the whole record was made with that gigantic thing behind Dave (3rd photo, below the lyrics of wims)... oh right, the Roland 700. It was said that 5-10 people in total knew how to get something good out of that monster there. Apparently, Alan Charles Wilder was one of them.

Well! I couldn't finish it, the record. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, I'll try again. I just wanted to say that, as far as contamination is concerned, even Depeche Mode have been industrial (84-86) and grunge (93) yet they are still classified as electronic music (because THAT is, even in Devotional).
