Guys, well, how can I put it, I find this album to be a Battleship Potemkin.

But if the comparison is made with Suicide... I have to get this record. And then what a shame I have nothing by Kraftwerk.

Easy, Stormino, you are real workaholics! Allow me to interrupt for just a moment again (but how many comments does this review have?): Regarding Stepd, about the huge popularity, an old joke that appeared in Cuore (if I remember correctly): "Eat shit. 100 billion flies can't be wrong..."

Marmist, I have a piece of advice for you: get the others too, at least Starsailor and Happy Sad, which are also very different (even from each other) in style compared to Lorca and quite different in instrumentation as well... but Blue Afternoon (the little brother of Happy Sad) and Goodbye and Hello (more traditional, a nice singer-songwriter album) are also very beautiful... you'll get a much clearer idea rather than just listening to this endlessly.

I also believe that the review could have been done better, having reread it... and just think, Antimo, I wanted to write other things! But I can't understand if it's a problem of dryness or something else... anyway, I really appreciate suggestions and criticisms, I think they say much more than a numerical score...

Hi Josi, thank you so much... I've been trying to reach you, you know? I wanted to continue the discussion about the referendum... I'm logging off now, but I’ll connect tonight; I hope to find your comment (or even more than one!) in the forum. P.S. I really like Mercury Rev too (up to Deserter, though) and Faust. And you were amazing reviewing Messiaen! What an infinite piece Quatour is!

You know, I reviewed this album because you never forget your first love. But I have to confess that it wasn't love at first sight for me either: for example, I had heard marvels about Tim's voice, and I, who had listened to Grace by Jeff, was expecting high notes and great melodies. I didn't even have many significant listens behind me, and I also have albums and bands that now embarrass me but that I don't renounce. However, it had the effect on me that it had on you: it made me think: what had I just listened to? In short, if I didn't like it, it didn't leave me indifferent either: so after a while, I listened to it again, and then listened to it again. Now, ten years later (and I've listened to a lot of music, which I've absorbed and processed), I can tell you that very few albums have the depth of Lorca for me. And, joking aside, I don't think it's a matter of sentimentalism (ah.. the good old days when I listened to Lorca). Many albums have more impact, more passion: but I still listen to this album, and I’ve told you everything (I have thousands of them). Ah, I almost have a form of fetishism for Anonymous proposition...
