Sorry for replying so late: @Antonio: well, it seems that this year both Starsailor and Blue Afternoon have been repressed on vinyl after a very long time. As for the CD, I think they’re still missing, although (honestly, I'm going by memory here, and I don't know where to look now) it seems there might be some movement regarding a CD reissue as well. But take the information with a grain of salt. @Gino: I don’t see Lorca as being that bold in its sounds; Starsailor is definitely more experimental. In Lorca, perhaps the exception is Anonymous Proposition, which leans towards the free, and Lorca pulls from psychedelia and prog (the organ, the 5/4 time), but it still has its feet firmly planted in folk. Starsailor includes references from Miles Davis to Ligeti (the title track) to Kathy Berberian, yet I’m convinced that overall it’s not his most successful album. I find Lorca to be more mature even in the more traditional tracks; it doesn’t flaunt arrangement techniques like the later work but has greater depth. If I had to elaborate on the tracks that stand out in Lorca, I would say that rather than the first two more experimental ones—which are absolutely in line with the mood of the rest of the album (meaning the next two)—I would definitely point out the last one, Nobody Walkin. After such a depressed album, all that energy feels a bit jarring.

awesome review that I had missed, I don't know the film but I'll get my hands on it, from the "plot" it reminded me of "la cicatrice interiore" by Garrel with Nico (the cover of desertshore is taken from the film)

What was that scene from the South Park movie like? "It's not the first time you Canadians have imported questionable things, it already happened with Bryan Adams" - "Our government has apologized for Bryan Adams more and more times."
Eric Sardinas Live @ Trezzo Blues River Festival 23.07.08

really very technical, but from what little I heard, he struck me as a terrible huckster. In the same vein, get "Dislocation Blues" by Chris Whitley, another great virtuoso of slide and dobro, who, however, has truly made an incredible album, unlike what I doubt Sardinas has done.
Hayao Miyazaki Laputa: Castello Nel Cielo

my favorite along with Spirited Away is probably the title that best represents Miyazaki, with all the flying machines (drawn by Miyazaki himself, if I remember correctly) and the kid characters reminiscent of Conan & Lan. Beautiful, beautiful, you’ve even made me want to watch it again.
