The Nice The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack

Excellent review. Comprehensive, precise, and remarkable in giving the Nice the credit they deserve as pioneers of a style that would characterize much of the seventies.
Steven Wilson Grace For Drowning

I would say that in these lines from the reviewer there is a good conceptual summary of the "emotional" and mental essence of the work ---> "In listening to everything, despite its richness of very different soundscapes, it appears cohesive and closely linked to a fundamental concept that permeates the entire piece: the duality of the human soul (a theme always dear to Steven), suspended between dark chaos and celestial atmospheres, inner disorder and peace of the senses." Where frankly - to put it bluntly - the meaning of the adjective "cohesive" is not quite understood, though... ;-)

..of course the first of the two "second" should be read as "only"...

Once again, an album from which I would have expected less dispersion, probably. While it's undeniable that Wilson's cultural background and musical preparation are beyond question, it is also true that the strong fragmentation of directions taken here (as well as on "Insurgentes") still leaves me a bit perplexed. Not always aiming here and there can guarantee a sure goodness of expressive variety, and in this plurischoid form—which also refers to the multiplicity of external projects—there is perhaps a certain lack of coherence. Let it be clear, one does not expect from Wilson monochord and unidirectional works, but the presence of multiple guiding threads ultimately resolves as partial inconclusiveness, even from an emotional perspective and in terms of subtle sensations. There are episodes of good and, at certain moments, excellent quality, but overall, and perhaps this is the limit of my viewpoint, I expected something more compact and meaningful that— as an old fan—would convince me and manage to move me more, a bit like in the days of "Signify", to be clear. However, the final word is not said yet, and we are only at the second chapter of his solo adventure.

Excellent review, as usual. Detailed, precise, comprehensive. Maybe I don't see all that overflowing technique from the good Tsuchiya, but the record is definitely there, along with all the wonders of Karn & Jones & Sakamoto. Furthermore, on a personal note, I've always really liked the cover, unlike some people here. And with that... Matteo, another great hit! ;-)
