In response to the rightly positioned and understandable observations from Analoguesound, I still feel the need to emphasize the "contrarian" aspect of this work. I mean that, in contrast to the directions that rock and other musical fusions were taking in the first half of the 70s, Tofani came out with an essentially country/rock'n'roll project of a rather (a term that I see does not please you, alas) traditional and distinctly American nature, despite the political beliefs of the guitarist, which I felt and still feel aligned with. This is substantially in opposition to the trends of the period. Like it or not, it is a subjective and human matter to perceive it differently, but assigning it a meager 2, in my opinion, is perhaps excessively punishing and uncharitable, even if the work cannot certainly be considered a masterpiece; and bearing in mind that what Tofani created and played with Area was done in an exemplary manner. Even more "distinct" is his work for Gianni Sassi's "diverso" series with an extraordinary "Indicazioni" that has nothing to envy from recognized luminaries of modern guitar, in my opinion (Reichel, Frith, Derek Bailey). Who knows how he’s doing among the Hare Krishnas.

I would say I'm in line with Stoney and Pibroch. And also that if I see someone getting excited about a refrigerator, I suppose they have some serious issues. As long as their excitement isn't due to what's inside the fridge. It certainly is disconcerting, but also seriously worrying that one could conceive this space to review a mathematical study text. Oh hey boy, what a welcome return. I don't really know these guys, although you've piqued my curiosity a bit. The stories of Crane and Parnell, on the other hand, were familiar to me. And the Rooster have done some excellent things too. Get them to read more often.
