Mike Stern Give And Take
Voto:
Just finished watching Stern in a reunion with Steps Ahead in 2004 in Japan. After a dazzling debut (I saw him with Miles in Turin in '83 and he was volcanic) and a great "Upside Downside," let me say that he's really become tiresome. Factory-produced solos and creativity reduced to a minimum. What a shame. He was a great promise.
Steve Hackett Out Of The Tunnel's Mouth

Yes, nice album. Probably one of the best in the last 7 or 8 years. Compact, flawless, and convincing. Hi Roby 86! Long time no see! And hi to Meco as well. Great review.
Jaco Pastorius Honestly Solo Live
Voto:
I was a couple of meters away from Jaco in '86 and his eyes were watery from too much drinking. Even back in '82, with Delmar Brown and Kenwood Dennard, his bipolar issues heavily impacted the success of his tour, and there was more talk about his "shoots" than his sounds. The Jaco I had seen with Zawinul in '80, during the "Night Passage" tour, was no longer there. I don't know what one of his solo albums sounds like, but Jaco deserves and will always deserve a second chance. Bravo ligdijs, or whatever the hell you call yourself.

I just see a big cover of Motley Crue on the reviewer's author page. Motley Crue. Ah.

Hey, how many people I know in these comments... it's nice to read you again... Kosmogabri, Punisher, Fosca... Odradek... I take this opportunity to send you all a warm wish for a peaceful 2010! A special hello to "old friend" Socrates, of course, whom I enjoy re-reading on this occasion. The review (as usual) is extremely thorough and well-structured, and the group is now... legendary, with a record that, in light of this reissue, is even more tempting to listen to. Personally, I find "Cafè bleu" more convincing, and I have a strange fondness for the romantic atmospheres of the first part of "Confessions of a pop group". However, thanks to Socrates for yet another lesson in style and a dear, indeed, a very dear greeting!
Nosound A Sense of Loss

I have to say that I approached the group due to their close connections to Steven Wilson and his philosophies. And I must say that both this album and the previous one, "Lightdark," have really pleased me. It’s a bit like Porcupine Tree has paused at the vibes of "Signify" or "The Sky Moves Sideways"... Expansive and dreamy atmospheres, soft and often evocative. If I also consider that they are Italian, it takes on even greater value, for what it's worth. Beautiful review, great work!
