Miles Davis You're Under Arrest
Voto:
Think what you want, new guard that doesn’t look. I haven't seen Davis more times (repeating it everywhere—even!—to impress anyone, but because I love jazz and that serves as testimony. Yours is just useless and empty arrogance. You don’t impress anyone at all. Or at least not me. Every Davis record is a piece of history, nothing but meanness. Instead of listening to all that stuff, listen to more jazz. It’s not enough to write a review on Coltrane or Davis or have some little friends supporting you to boost your ego. Take care, hero.
Miles Davis You're Under Arrest

To the reviewer: diplomatic and shrewd. Here, friendships or enmities have no bearing. Only words that weigh like stones on pieces of jazz history. If Miles were still with us, he would still be having fun tearing apart yet another white guy. @acqualife: I saw Miles's tour related to this work at Umbria Jazz, and live, the expansions were extraordinary. Although Decoy is superior in terms of inspiration, Under Arrest remains a work a notch above the (co)fusers of the era. Slapping it with the label of background music is at least unkind and absolutely out of place. And with the white guys, then...

Great Venegoni!
Klaus Schulze Cyborg
Voto:
Can you believe I even managed to see him live, Klaus, in '74! Unforgettable. Cyborg is, along with "Irrlicht" and "Picture Music," undoubtedly a masterpiece.

Miles Davis Agharta
Voto:
After this nebulous live ("Pangea" is just the brother in the afternoon performance of the same Japanese show), Miles was so shattered (Lips, hip, and... coke) that he retired from the scene until '82. And it’s no surprise. As much as I love Miles, the sound is decidedly dark, heavy, complicated in its enigmatic spirals, and "Mayisha" is a striking testament to that. There are much more representative albums of the extraordinary "electric" Miles from those years. The same "Live/Evil," "On The Corner," or "Big Fun," or my favorite "Get Up With It." They can easily be found online. A middle school review.
