In my opinion, this album, with its rejection of modern society and rationality, is a journey into the human subconscious where repressed instincts reside, unleashed here: anger, impulses, a cauldron of passions, instinct, and rage, all together without good or evil—impulses following one another chaotically, from murderous whispers to desperate screams that seem to release everything our ego suppresses during the day to be politically correct. It’s a catharsis, a psychoanalytic session; it feels as if the songs were created spontaneously, just as they came in the moment. One needs only to close their eyes to find themselves in distant and primitive forests, just think of the horn of “savage sea,” and the piano of “snowgirl” slithers in and enters the mind. What to say—a long journey into the human unconscious.
