I quote easycure once again.

I wouldn’t confuse a "very narrow" and "bigoted" view with the humility of considering oneself incompetent and being able to learn something from those who know more. Additionally, I wouldn’t confuse the "freedom of expression" and "freedom of thought" with ignorance, arrogance, and the presumption of not being ignorant.

flinsone, Time is a business: it is a professionally organized economic activity aimed at the production or exchange of goods or services. this does not seem to be the case for scaruffi, who started the site as a hobby in 1985, certainly not to sell his books.

Well, if I were to say that in Mozart the artistic value of some of his works is absolute, you would still retort: "And who says this? And on what grounds? Objective grounds?" Well, for Nico and Foetus it's the same, I chose them because their greatness, as we say in my area, is thrown in your face.

look, there’s a fundamental difference with time: time has to sell its magazine, Scaruffi doesn’t have to answer to anyone. hence all the implications that are so self-evident that I’m bored to write them down.

"Where is Enya's originality? Where are her innovations? Where is her artistic value? Ah, right, all of this is derived from the reviews? And who wrote the reviews? Answer: Scaruffi (or his scribes).” I don't get this part: the site is his, he gave the rating, and why on earth shouldn’t he write the reviews???? Should he copy them from others???? I don't understand, I don’t know, explain it to me, what does a closed circle mean? Is expressing one's own opinion a closed circle?

I completely agree with easycure and Riccardo, and I would add that the artists you mention are not as influential as you think, at least in the music I listen to, very little or nothing. Moreover, influence is not the only or even the most important criterion for judging the greatness of an artist; in fact, a Foetus or a Nico haven't had much of an influence, but the artistic value of some of their works is absolute.

Well, for me, all the ones on the list are excellent, while Prince, John, and Oasis are crap, Bowie and Kraftwerk aren’t exactly the best either. Can you explain why these artists you mention should be there? For me, they are absolutely inferior to the artists on his list (including the Mulino Bianco songs by the Beatles)... I mean, you’re not solving anything. Why should your list be acceptable and his not? (At least he writes kilometers of reviews to explain himself), you’re putting yourself on the same level as him...

I don't trust anyone, first of all. Secondly, the original by Van Morrison is much more original and deep for me; in Piaf's cover, I don't like the effeminate voice..I mean, they're covers and they don't add anything special or new compared to the originals, which are more exciting. And another thing, Jeff didn't have all that much talent, that's the point.

Well, mojo pin is also by Lucas. For me too, the covers leave much to be desired; Van Morrison is definitely much better. Let’s not even talk about the Piaf cover... I agree with Larrrok.
