I wasn't talking about tastes; what I meant is that maybe some people just aren't interested in art, and for this, they have to be scorned or considered stupid. For example, I listen to a lot of music but know little about literature, so for someone who reads novels, I might seem stupid if I read "Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo." What I want to tell you is that no one can decide what culture a person should have. My point is broader: everyone takes care of their own culture, whether they choose to create it or disregard creating it altogether.

2 things, I agree with you that there is no freedom of information in Italy. I disagree with you on the fact that we live in a violent and xenophobic country and if we are like this it is because we are led by the highest powers to be this way; I think it's the opposite.

By "mass," I meant the group of people (the individuals) that make up a society. I believe it's wrong to say that the mass is stupid; it's very offensive. You shouldn't be the one to decide what people should buy or what is best for them; this is the essence of freedom, isn't it? Aside from your "aristocratic" attitude, Michael Jackson sold more than the Wipers for a thousand reasons, from the fact that people don't have the time and inclination to delve into music that for them ends with Jackson, to the fact that people aren't interested in art, even simply because they lack the time, to the fact that Michael Jackson expressed certain emotions that some people desired, who didn't want to blow their brains out listening to the Wipers (live in a doom town...).

"The world is like this, they've turned us all into bourgeois, and we have no other choice but to become hermits and ignore the world itself." I’ve never understood what a bourgeois is; you can’t generalize like that, and I tell you that today there is much more attention towards the world and what is happening everywhere, isn’t there?

From the dump down, I completely agree with you, dear Alessio. To begin with, I am not a communist; in fact, I would rather that Rifondazione won (knocking on wood). This is due to various reasons, which I won't elaborate on now, that are more economic than ideological. And while I don't believe in what Marx says, I can tell you that, given my stupidity, I didn't fully grasp the meaning of the first part of what you said. From what I understood, I can tell you that rightly you can't decide what is better or worse for others and therefore dictate the course of events. This is something that happens collectively over time; you can only act consistently with your own thoughts and engage with others to embrace their ideas if you find them better, and vice versa. This is only possible in a democracy.

then supersoul in the times of Pasolini it was unthinkable that a woman could do anything other than being a housewife, and even here...

But dear supersoul, I completely agree with you and Alessio regarding Berlusconi; my speech was much more general. In concrete terms, I agree with you, I too am ashamed of many things here in Italy, especially Berlusconi, and perhaps this issue of the velina is his lesser evil. I want to point out that "changing the human being anthropologically" doesn’t necessarily imply a negative change; on the contrary, I believe the opposite is true. I already saw the video of the interview with Biagi some time ago. "Take fascism: fascism, like other dictatorial regimes, is a clear entity. You could immediately perceive its evil and you tried to react (resistance). Today, dictatorship is much more insidious because it is implicit, yet it is equally constraining and does not allow for real possibilities of resistance, or at least I don't see any." This is not true; the very fact that you can write these things without any problem is proof of that. I believe that today we are freer than we were under fascism, while recognizing that we are not entirely free. Nonetheless, I agree that Berlusconi is disgusting.

a stupid example: you talk about the case of Carfagna and gay pride, but imagine if gay pride could have been at least conceivable in Pasolini's time.

Come on, very good, but I don't share your excessive pessimism. I think it's not true that the world has slipped into an abyss and that things will always get worse. I believe we live better than we did 50 years ago, and despite the events you mention, many things have changed for the better. It's true that some things seem to remain the same, but I believe we are always moving towards improvement... I haven't seen the documentary yet; I'll make sure to do so.
