I love R.E.M. but I have to admit that this is their worst album, in fact, it's really a mess. Of course, there's no accounting for taste, but when you listen to "Murmur," "Lifes Rich P." or "Automatic for the People," what will you do? Will you tear your hair out or set yourself on fire in the square?!?!?

5 stars for the first half of the album and 1 star for the second half where there is really a lack of pathos and feeling like in previous albums.
Of course, seeing them play live is still a mystical experience!
