I agree with festwca: "this is not a dream" is an absolute masterpiece. Pii, of course, may not appeal to everyone. However, I wouldn't say "Labradford aren't too bad"... I'd say Labradford are huge... but tastes vary, I guess.
As for Charalambides, I find them incredibly dull... self-indulgent to the point of irritation... pleased with themselves to an unimaginable degree...
They're simply an ensemble of "geniuses" coming together solely to showcase how avant-garde they are. Unfortunately, I bought this record... fifteen euros literally down the drain. I don't think I'll listen to it again... does anyone care? I imagine not...
Nothing more than a typical Scaruffian throwaway... one of many like "appetite for destruction" or Public Enemy...
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Yanqui U.X.O.

The album is beautiful and majestic... it's one of those rare albums that lasts eighty minutes but you don't feel it at all! (along with Tago Mago and Zen Arcade maybe...) stunning, unsettling like few other things.

I like "spirit they're gone, spirit they've vanished", which is from 2000.

Just listened...I expected better...it's a nice little disk, don't get me wrong: this manitoba is good with the electronic instruments at his disposal, but nothing transcendental...at times it's even somewhat cloying. In short, it doesn’t do it for me. However, the review is engaging and passionate.

Hey, don’t mess with the pain teens because they are genuine geniuses ;-) They’re not electronic... they’re... a bit of everything! A bubbling and impressive cauldron of genres...

I totally agree about Soulseek... it has been giving me so many gems over the past year that Mule has officially been uninstalled =) I agree on the brilliance of the album, but I believe that in the legendary nineties (which, in terms of creative explosion, were only surpassed by the sixties) there were countless masterpieces... just look at "harsh 70's reality," which I consider at least on par with this one.

I think the pretazzo might not be entirely wrong =D but the Dream Theater have undoubtedly elevated the genre...
