Keith Fullerton Whitman Recorded in Lisbon

the album is very similar to "irrlicht" in terms of setup... that buildup halfway through the track gets me so excited! the best album of 2006

oh I just listened to it again... I like it too much, there's nothing to be done... you know when an album gets UNDER YOUR SKIN? These Cul De Sac may not be very innovative, but they are sublime musicians!

yes yes..it's truly of unimaginable seriousness...but I believe that many legendary former visitors of this site, including egebamyasi or kosmogabri, were familiar with this record..it's a shame they don't come around anymore..

dear jawbreaker.. do you know how many things could be said in a review? just imagine when it comes to the albums we love.. we could fill the entire debaser database! Yes, I admit I've omitted some details, but I believe that when writing a review, one must primarily express their impressions of the album in question. Anyway, I try to be as technical as possible. In any case, I still believe this is a masterpiece. At least from a strictly musical point of view, it is. Not innovative, but it's a great album.

Absolutely true, pretazzo. Zappa was a highly cultured musician, steeped in a stratospheric musical culture... from the classics to the moderns: surely Zappa listened to Cage, listened to Varese, listened to Riley...

But look... if you're looking for the creative and inspiring record of many converts, well, this is certainly not a masterpiece in THAT sense. Probably the Ghosts are better in that regard. However, trust me, this is huge if you're looking for something pleasant to the ears :-)

one of the greatest....one of the most beautiful albums of 2006..if not THE album

The album is beyond discussion... it's one of the artistic milestones of the 20th century, no doubt. Yes, artistic, not just musical, because Zappa, in my opinion, is one of those geniuses who created ART, not simply music... no kidding, he really set a precedent. Just think about HOW MANY have been inspired by Zappa and his irony... how many albums reflect his tender yet inspired madness... consider Dogbowl, Ant-Bee, Cerberus Shoal... and I'm only mentioning the first three that come to mind. Moreover, think about all the wacky bands (like Elio e le storie tese) and how much they owe to Zappa!
Zappa was the first to conceive of music that spoke about other music and music that mocked music itself.
A genius, there's little to say or add. We miss him, we miss him a lot.
